My daughter is a week shy of 3mos. She's been drooling and having moodswings.
I thought it start til 4mos or better. My first ws 4mos. She also chews on my nipple when she nurses! Is there anything I can do for her? Most things say 4mos and older.. I have some homepathic teething gel that good for all ages but it doesn't seem like it makes a difference.. any other ideas that are safe and actually help?

What can I do next?

This may sound crazy but it works. I buy socks and keep them just for this! I usually buy young boys it seems to be a good size. Put ice in the CLEAN NOT USED SOCK~ TIE the end in a knot crush the ice (either before you put it in or after) wet the sock slightly and give it tou your child if he or she is old enough to hold it obv. if not hold it for her/him. MY mom has used this for every child in her care and shared w/ all their moms ~people are sleptical till they see the child take to it! Good Luck!!

I definetly think that at least one of my boys practically came out teething! We really liked and used the Sophie the Giraffe teething toy, I know that we used it earlier than 4 months and I just checked..it says newborn and up. Might be worth a try..that and some really good little drooler bibs!

Tons - our son went through teething, which is what brought us to Mamapedia.

1) Click on "teething" in your answer - it links to other questions on MP

2) chew toys - ours preferred them frozen, but in the fridge also works

3) frozen dishrag

4) Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets (available most places, we found at walmart). A non narcotic all natural pill (about the size of a baby aspirin) that dissolves in the mouth. Even comes with a warning - "May cause sleep"

5) various oragels. We used them, but found the effects much more temporary than anything else.

First of all, I would ignore what "they" say about when a baby should be teething! Every baby is different and it really doesn't matter what "they" say; fact is, she's teething and she needs relief!!!

I always used the colorful teething rings; sometimes cold, sometimes not. They worked and my babies were always happy. I never used any gels because they never worked.

Good luck!!!

nope my guy is teething too. He won't be 4 months old till the 26th of May. Thankfully he likes to chew his hands and doesn't have much trouble getting things to his mouth. His favorite are blankets and his burp rags so I just started wetting the end of a clean rag and freezing it. I also LOVE hylands teething tabs, but we haven't had to use them yet for the little guy. They worked great for my toddler and even worked when he cut 2 molars and 3 front teeth within the span of 2 weeks (poor kid).
