Grinding is ok or at least nothing to worry about now and for the next few years. My kids dentist, and my kids are 18 months and 3 years old, both grind and have healthy teeth. Their dentist says it's normal and ok
Help, how can i get my seven and a half month old to stop grinding his teeth. he has a total of four, two on the bottom and two on the top and he figured out how to grind them and play with them. it seriously sounds as those he's crunching on something sometimes haha, and everytime i say no, as if he'll understand right, he smiles at me and laughs. is there something i can do about that? thanks

It's totally natural and harmless, and he will stop on his own within a month or two. Don't worry about it! :)
He's entertaining himself and you! LOL
Have you tried freezing little damp baby washcloths & give him O. to chew on?
Just ignore him. He found something new and he likes that he is getting a reaction from you. When you tell him no, you probably have that look people give when someone scratches their nails across a chalkboard...pretty funny face to a 7 month old :)
other than givin him stuff to chew on, u cant stop the grind
It is actually totally normal. He is discovering his teeth and that he can rub them together. My kids all did this for about a month and then stopped. You can distract him if you are really worried about it but he will eventually stop.
My son did the same thing. I know it sounds so gross. It was just a short phase, he was curious about what was in his mouth. He stopped...
It sounds like he just needs something to chew on. (Frozen teethers work wonders.) Babies do funny things, he's probably just exploring ways to use his teeth. If you're worried about it talk to your pediatrician.
Dentists say that this is normal when they are teething nothing to worry about unless once they are done teething they continue. Good Luck
Our dentist said you actually want them to grind their teeth because it helps with both the cutting process AND rounds out knife sharp edges. Dentin in baby teeth is a LOT different from what our teeth are made out of.
This is super common. My pediatrician said not to worry about it- it won't damage the teeth. And honestly, when my daughter did it, it lasted less than a week Then she never did it again! Hang in there!!!
