Sometimes I want to answer in a silly way J. off the subject line or I think it's going to be a completely diferent kind of question.

Below are some examples

Should it really take this long?
how much do i charge you ask.......
What could this be?!?!
When do they learn how to wipe their own butt?

So do you too fight the urge to answer J. the subject line ?

Sooooooo Muuuuuuuuch!!

Things like "My 4 yr. old keeps peeing the bed! Help!!"

I think once I finally J. put, "Stop putting him to bed in underwear." and J. left it at that. I mean how do you control or stop something that's happening when both you and the child are UNCONSCIOUS? If you've tried "everything" (i.e. limiting drinks and such) then what's left? Put that kid in a pullup, save youself the laundry, save his dignity and get some sleep!

And I have to agree the "could I be pregnant" ones I don't even read anymore. Well, are ya doin' the deed? Then yup you could be. Go pee on a stick.

Can you tell I haven't had my daily dose of caffeine? I can. Let M. J. apologize in advance. Sorry, I'm b!tchy today.

One of these years I am going to snap and J. respond to a title of "Am I crazy" with yes. Won't read the question J. answer the title.

Yes, I also have to stop myself from instantly saying "yes" when someone says "Did I overreact?" or "Am I wrong?" or "Could I be pregnant?"

My personal favorite to date - gender reveal parties. Still makes M. giggle and think of that cake-popping-out-cross-dressing-Cher. Ahh, the simple pleasures in life. For the most part I bite my tongue and avoid the annoying questions. Every now and then I can't resist adding a snarky reply if I think it will be received in the manner it was intended - pure amusement.

My favorite is "Do you think I could be pregnant?". I do not respond to those questions, but I want to type: Are you sexually active--then yes you could be. If you aren't--then no you could not be.

Yeah, some people actually do report you for answering the question "Am I crazy" with the word "yes", even when they declare up and down that they don't report posts. (Or even better, that it's not Christian-like to report posts. Hysterical!) I laugh about that - I'm sure I don't have to explain why!

I can't remember when my kids finally learned to wipe on their own, but I remember a neighbor had a 5 year old girl and she was constantly fussing about still having to do it. Personally, I would love to answer that question "As long you will do it for her/him", but I doubt that's a helpful response. But I do think it!

Funny question!

Sometmes I do answer with a silly remark.

Someone asked how do I eat _______(I can't remember what the food was)?

I said with your mouth, I J. couldn't help myself. I think most people have a good sence of humor about it. And it's nice to make someone laugh once in a while.

Let M. first say I don't answer the questions that irritate M..
i.e. how do I know if I'm pregnant, can I be pregnant...if you want empathy, sympathy or really J. don't know call the freaking doctor!

I fight the urge by not answering. Better some things left unsaid(or this case unwritten).

Absoutely! There are so many titles that set off my "sarcasm switch" that I often have to J. step away for a minute before I type something completely inappropriate or insulting. I J. tend not to answer those - don't want you nice ladies to think I'm the raging beyotch that I can be.

YES YES! hahaha. All the time, actually. ...and then I read the question and think it may not be appropriate. J. the other day, a mom asked a question and the subject line was something like "daughter suddenly scared of kids and people". It was a serious question, so i didn't say what I wanted to which was relating to the fact that she put "kids" and "people" into different categories. I thought that was funny (although not meant to be), but I was gonna say that I frequently doubt my kids are humans all the time:)

That was one example, but I frequently feel that way about subject lines:)

Cheryl O: "New rules???"

ALL the freakin time. There are a couple thoughts that come to mind with certain subject lines.
they include:

yeah, and?
do you really not know this?
why the hell did you have kids?

I don't actually SAY that most of the time ... but boy do I think it a lot LOL

ETA: Yes!! Didn't you get your welcome to Mamapedia e-mail? They've got a new "zendesk" support desk!! Do you remember when people posted about getting a PM from "someone stating they were from Mamapedia" and they were asked to revise their post? Well, NOW!!! They are trying to reform the "help desk" and stop the flaming and calling people out...also trying to help people who are having problems loading pages, sending flowers, etc. (you know when you get the "javascript (0)" message when you WANT to send a flower? They are trying to help with that too...

And IF by chance the person or persons who asked the questions felt flamed by it - you know the reporting that happens? Yeah...they are trying to lessen that.

original post!

J. M - with the "new rules" they are trying to enforce - your post might get pulled for flaming!!!

I get what you are saying. There are some questions that make you go hhhmmmm...

When I write something silly - there's one on here that gets her panties in a bunch and reports M....but yeah...I do like to laugh so I'll do what I can!!

I've been tempted to ask this same question, because my mind answers instantly with something....usually sarcastic or obvious, and then I read the post. Then, it's not so funny.....or wouldn't be taken as such. :) Glad to see so many of us do have a sense of humour, and most can hold their tongues. :P

Yeah, the one I really want to respond to in a funny way is "Am I pregnant?" Well, gee, I'm not a doctor, I have no freakin' clue... get thee to an ob/gyn for a concrete answer. And the "what is this/should I go to the doctor?" type questions. If you have to ask...

ETA: I don't know what changes Cheryl O. is referring to but hope she will expand on it. According to Mamapedia "Terms and Conditions" they have not been updated since "March 2010." Shouldn't we be notified of such changes? Especially if a post such as this might be pulled for flaming???
