Storyland Accommodations - Nordic Village

We have a 2 BR condo at Nordic Village. 2BR condos sleep 6 people because there is also a queen size sofa bed. I wanted to let you know that the 2BR units have the bedrooms on different floors. So I am not sure how comfortable you are about having your 3 year old on a different floor. However there is a sofa bed and a bedroom on the same floor. To address an issue that was brought up with your recent responses...there are 3 pools, 2 heated pools outside and 1 heated pool inside. The indoor pool can get crowded, but if you are coming during warm weather (and hopefully not raining), you can definitely use an outside pool. We are here this weekend and none of the pools are crowded. But there have been some crowds, depending on time of year and even time of day you use it. We have a unit in the I(Innsbruck) building with a beautiful, unobstructed view of the mountainside that is part of the rental program. Try "Seasons". Famly friendly. close to storyland. REasonable prices. Go for the places with air conditioning.

Hi,A.. I've stayed at Nordic Village several times over the years and like it there very much. The units vary. All that I have stayed in are nice and some have been over the top. I remember specifically staying in the unit Jura 70 years ago (Jura building, unit 70). It was gorgeous offering a spiral staircase to an upstairs bedroom. I believe there was a second bedroom in that unit, but if there isn't I'm sure they must have a pull-out couch. I've been in many of the different units--honestly, it's hit or miss. One year we were stuck in a unit that had ants--we weren't too happy about that. Another year we had a room with a noisy fridge. Another time we got stuck with neighbors that were loud. I do have to say, though, for the most part they are beautiful accommodations. One thing we didn't like was that the pools were COMPLETELY overloaded with kids. Maybe you like this, but we didn't. You just couldn't move. They do have nightly bonfires which are nice and when we were there they had a clown for entertainment. If you like to see the mountains I would request at least a unit that is mid-way up. The units at the top are gorgeous but very expensive. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon. Just an FYI if you ever plan to go up in the winter...you may want to request a unit at the bottom of the mountain because you may have problems getting your car up to the top--we did! If you go and find that you really don't like the unit you're in, they are usually pretty good about switching you to a different unit if they have one available. We have never had a problem when we wanted to switch. If you're looking for a restaurant try The Red Fox in Jackson. It's great food, and I beleive they have a kid's room while you're waiting to be seated. Beware of wildlife at Nordic Village. We have seen bears trying to get into the dumpsters. If you don't bother them, they won't bother you (but keep your distance anyway). I hope I've been of some help. Good luck and enjoy your vacation! --H.

I'm not sure how the prices compare to Nordic Village, but we've had good luck finding places at VacationHomeRentals.com. We've been able to find places under $200/night and end up with more space than we really need: separate bedrooms, living room w/ TV, kitchen.
One year we stayed at a ski condo in Attitash, (I think it was Attitash Village), but it wasn't exceptionally clean.

We have stayed there several times with our kids (twins, now five years old) and had a great time. We have had a townhouse each time and haven't had any problems, except bears. We came out 1 morning to find a momma and two cubs going through the dumpster in our communal parking lot.

They weren't really a /problem/ in that they moved on quickly, but it was an interesting experience. :^)

They do have nightly entertainment for the kids - a magician one night, a clown the next, and my kids made their first s'mores at that bonfire.

And it's VERY convenient to Storyland. We'll definitely be going back.
