What area do you live in? And have you tried the department of family and protective services. They will help you get licensed and set you up with your in home day care. Their website is dfps.state.tx.us
I am wanting to get some info on start up for an at home daycare. Websites? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am just unsure where to start. I have wasted to much time away from my kids. Thanks

I found an excellent resource for printing forms, contracts, etc., all for free. Here's the link:
http://www.thedaycarelady.com/
That is how I got all of my forms, and I looked at several examples of contracts and picked out parts I liked and kind of came up with my own.
I would also look at the childcare ads thru Fort Worth Star Telegram to get an idea of what other providers are charging and what info they're putting in their ads. Here is the link:
http://buyit.dfw.com/findit/search/results.jsp?query=chil...
I had placed an ad on there when I got started and I got several calls, I never had to post any flyers around or anything.
I also made myself a website, it's totally free, and I included the link to my website on my ad so people can see upfront what my policies and rates are. I did mine through http://members.freewebs.com/
Here's my little daycare website for an example:

For sure check out that link about child care licensing that someone else already suggested. You can also search for listed and registered homes in your area, that will give you names, addresses and phone numbers, I had called around first to know what to charge in my area, and I actually talked to a lot of very helpful people! And you could always give them your info to pass on, because they get calls all the time for people needing daycare, so it's nice for them to have a list of people to refer to.
I chose to do at home daycare because I too wanted to stay at home with my two little boys, I couldn't stand the thought of someone else having them all day! It can be challenging, but to me it's worth it. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions!
hey C. its mandie we need to really look into it because i want to work from home so if you find anything out let me know
Hi C., Are you familiar with the state website. http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/About_Child_Care_L...
Also, you should find a local child care association. tphcca.org can probably find the closest one for you.
If you want to talk or ask me any questions, you can send me a private message and I'll give you my number.
