We have a glider and ottoman that we are looking to sell, but the cushions have stains on them. Any ideas on how to remove the stains? The fabric on the cushions are sewn together without a zipper so I can't throw them in the washing machine. Any suggestions would be wonderful! Thank you in advance :)

If you have tried other things the best stain remover is dog and cat animal stain remover. Any brand even at Walmart will work. It is great for getting out stains and neutralizing odors. If it doesn't work, I don't think anything else would. After all, if it can take out animal pee, poop and vomit, anything that would get on a glidder and ottoman should come out.

I always try "soda water" (baking soda mixed with water) on any stain (carpet, upholstery, etc.) before I go out and spend money on one of those spot stain removers. So you might try taking about a tablespoon or so of baking soda to a cup or a cup and a half of warm water, mixing it well and then using a clean cloth (NOT paper towel - something like wash rag, cloth diaper, etc.), cover your finger with the cloth, dip it in the baking soda water and then blot the stains SEVERAL times. Then repeat the dip and blot process a few times as well. You may have to wait for the spot to dry to be able to tell if the stain is gone depending on the fabric.

So far, that's the only method I've ever had to use to get a stain off of our couches. I'm pretty diligent about treating the stains right away though so I don't know about set in stains. That may take something chemical.

Oh, and one more thing, I've had great luck getting stains out of clothes and carpet with baby wipes. I know, baby wipes. Weird huhn? But I got a stain out of my mom's shorts at 6-flags and poop and other stains out of the carpet in our family room with them as well.

Good luck!

I have used Grease Lightning on Fabrics and it works great at taking out stains. I spray it on a clean cloth and then blot, blot, blot.

I agree with Jessica. We use pet cleaner and it gets out just about everything. We prefer Nature's Miracle.

I would try Goo Gone that you can get at Wal-Mart. We always use it at work to remove permanent marker and sticky stuff left from stickers. I know it is really cheap so even if it did not work you did not spend too much on it. Good luck!

we have used windex on almost every imainable stain in almost any imaginable place (cola stains on car roof, gum in the floor boards, red koolaid in the carpet, & more)and it hasn't let us down yet. if you can remove the cushoins from the chair & place them on a flat surface it works LOADS better, you can place firm pressure on the area better. Hope this helps...
