Need Help with Carpet Pet Stains

I use Shout on EVERYTHING! When my dog was having accidents I sprayed on the area and scrubbed with a dry towel and magic it was gone. good luck!

Hey J., You might try liquid oxy clean mix with a little water. Dab area to see if it works. It has worked for some of my toughest stains before. Good Luck.

why not try doggie diapers??? As far as stains I have used resolve pet stain remover. But that is for the new stains. I just had my carpet professionally cleaned to get the old ones out.

Joyce-I bought this recipe on ebay because I was desperate to get rid of pet stains/odors too. I have used it several times (even on cat urine) and have had success. I am glad to share it with you.

Pet odor and stain remover

Here’s what you’ll need....

MATERIALS:


12oz. Hydrogen Peroxide

16oz or greater PLASTIC bottle ( I find sport drink
bottles with pull up caps work the best)

2 teaspoons of Baking Soda

1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing soap

Black light (optional, though recommended)


PROCEDURE:

First you need to make the solution. You can mix it
in a plastic bowl or right in your bottle. Pour all
the ingredients in and mix well with any type of
plastic utensil. I simply swish it around in the
bottle until all the ingredients are mixed
2. After you make the solution, you’ll need to find
the stain (this is where the black light comes in if
you don't have one or know where the stain is then
skip to step 3) Turn off the lights
and use the black light to scan the area and find the
urine. It will glow under the black light. You may
have seen this procedure on TV when they investigate
dirty hotel rooms.

3. Now to clean the area (you may want to do a spot
test on your carpet though I have never had a problem
with this solution, the carpet may look lighter in
dirty areas because it has also removed the stain )
Pour your solution evenly on the affected area so it
gets deep into the carpet and underling pad.

4. Allow to completely dry and vacuum area to remove
the baking soda!

Now your finished and the odor should be completely
gone. Your dog will not smell anything and so will not
urinate on the area again! You can use this solution
to get out tough stains, too. It can also be used in
the car!

Try Capture. It comes in a white tub and there is a spray to go with it I think. It works great. Good Luck.

Nature's Miracle works wonders on pet stains! You can get it pet stores.

Natures Miracle works best. Pour directly on stain, then blot, blot, blot. If urine color does not come up, leave on 5 min, then blot again. When dry, use water to take up excess cleaning fluid. Now, if that does not work-ue Oxyclean (mixed as directed on the bottle) and put a soaked rag on the stain and leave it for a few hours. Then blot. Then put a dry rag on stain and heavy item over it as a wick and leave it for a day.

The ONLY thing that works for me you can get at target, walgreens, meijer etc.... It is the woolite pet + oxygen stain remover. It is fantastic!!!!

I haven't personally tried this but this is ONE of the tips I got from typing "pet stain removal" on google. If this don't work maybe go back and check google as there were lots of links to "solutions" to remove the stains.

How to Remove Urine Stains From:
Alabaster, Marble

Wipe the stain with a cloth or sponge dipped in warm sudsy water. Rinse well and wipe dry. If a stain persists, soak an absorbent pad in rubbing alcohol and apply to the stain after wringing nearly dry. Wait 5 minutes, then apply an absorbent pad that has been soaked in ammonia and wrung nearly dry. Alternate alcohol and ammonia pads until stain has been removed. Wipe surface with a cloth dampened with clear water and dry with a soft cloth.

I had issues with my dog going in the house also. I don't have a particular favorite cleaner, but I can tell you not to use a steam cleaner.
The heat sets the stain and smell. If you do use a steam cleaner use cool water.

I have found that Stanley Steamer is the best. Especially on white carpet. My boss and co worker referred them to me.

A dog trainer told me when I was training our then puppy, to pour white vinegar on it, dab it in with a towel then lay the towel over the spot and put something heavy on top of it, like a book or two and let it sit for awhile, at least over an hour or two. He said that the vinegar will soak up the urine over time. And this really did work well for me and we had cream colored carpet. Good luck!

Spot Shot takes all of my stains away. I have 2 kids and 5 cats!! My husband could be considered a kid sometimes as well! lol You can get it anywhere. Follow it up with a pet urine smell remover at any pet store.

I grew up with dogs, and now I have two cats, so I've dealt with many a pet-related accident. I would try vinegar--that usually gets rid of the smell, and the vinegar smell doesn't last. I've also used Nature's Miracle, which you can get at PetSmart, and that sometimes works as well.

The best spot remover I have ever found can not be found in any store. I bought if from a car detailing shop at whole sale price. It is what they use on the car carpets. It was 32 dollars a concentrated gallon but worth every penny and then some. It removes even car grease from my carpets, make up foundation, and walmarts famous red punch (generic crystal light) from my white counter tops even, yes I have messy kids, lol. Wonderful stuff. It is an emzine cleaner. Call around and ask to talk to a manager you might get lucky and they will sell you a gallon. Tell them your problem. Sweet talk them, lol Good Luck.

We bought a Spotbot by Bissell and it works great, like a little robot--you pretreat the stain, put the machine over the area and it does all the work for you.

Just go to Petsmart or Petco and Get Nature's Miracle or Petzyme which is cheaper. It has all natural enzymes that removes stain and odors. You pour the liquid over the pee stain and let it soak for about 20 minutes and them blot it out. I have a puppy who has accidents and it really works. I also use Woolite Pet Oxygen on other pet stains.

Get some Bizz laundry detergent powder. Make a cleaning solution of it and spray it on with a water bottle, leave for a couple hours and then take up with a carpet cleaner. It works on lots of stains, even if they are old!

There is a cleaner made by Bissell called Lickety Split that is superb for spots. Perhaps it would work for this too. I would call some of the vacuum stores in Bloomington cause they don't carry it at the one here in Bedford.
It has been wonderful for my carpet and I have a 3 year old who has oopsies all the time.

Try a product called Pettastic.

i work at an animal hospital and the best results that we have seen either personally or from client recommendations are natures miracle, or an enzyme cleaner, some animal hospitals sell these both.

I have cats, and one is a barfer. I broke down and bought the Bissel Spot Bot, and have not regretted it one minute! The Bissel pet stain remover works great with the machine. You literally just place the machine over the stain, turn it on, and then it does all the work for you.

Another cleaner that I like is Oreck's pet stain remover.

I have two big dogs and a 17 month old, so trust me I know about stains. If you live in my area, I can give you what I have to try out and see if it works for you. Oxyclean has worked for us with spots on our carpet and couch. They say it may fade colors but since your carpet is white you wont have to worry. It did work wonders in getting out stains. I even use it in the laundry.

Pet stains are not just "stains" - of course you don't want there to be a visible spot, but the most important thing is to get rid of the bacteria left from the urine, because that will keep your dog returning to the area. Their noses are hundreds times more sensitive than ours, so you need something that really works. Spot Bots and Oxyclean won't cut it when you're dealing with a pet stain. I recommend Nature's Miracle or some other enzyme cleaner. You need an enzyme cleaner because the enzymes will actually eat away the bacteria. There is no other way to get rid of it, and our noses will not tell us if it's truly clean. When you do use the Nature's Miracle, you need to completely saturate the area, cover it with an upside-down laundry basket or something that will let the air in, and then leave it alone for 3 weeks. It takes a lot of time! If after 3 weeks you still notice a smell, repeat the process but don't keep soaking it before the 3 weeks is up. Trust me, this is the only way. And as for the stain itself, maybe with an old dog and two grandchildren in the house, it's time to go from white carpet to beige ;) Good luck!
