I was unimpressed with it for depression. However, the topical oil is a fabulous first-aid treatment for severe bruises. If used immediately after an injury, it can reduce or even prevent black-and-blue marks and the associated soreness. And it can speed up the resolution of established bruises.

It was ok. A slight mood lifter - not much.

The side effects killed it for me. Where a nicotine patch gave me very vivid dreams, SJW was extremely life like dreams. I found them too disturbing, so I stopped taking it after about 3-4 weeks.

Please consult with a doctor including your gynecologist before taking supplements including this one! It can affect and even interfere with other medications you take, including birth control meds. Always talk to a doctor before supplementing.

Yes, it works but I like Sam E better. Sam E is more expensive though. You can buy Sam E at CVS by Nature Made. (Sorry, I am late--I do not get on this site unless I am at work....) lol

I have never tried it myself but it is said to be good for anxiety and depression.

My husband takes it and it makes a big difference to him. You have to get the potent brand, most grocery store brands aren't effective. Standard Process is the brand that medical professionals use and 'prescribe'. You also have to take it daily to see any results.

St. John's Wort can make your birth control less effective. I never noticed much of a difference when I had taken it.
