My concern is more with the stench than with the drool itself. Usually this is a sign of infection. You should mention it to the Dr. He may have a tooth infection or he could have something else going on.
Hi Moms, I need some help. My 3 year old drools in his sleep every night. This drool makes his pillow smell awful. I have been throwing out pillows every other week because I can't stand their stench when I give him a kiss goodnight. I wash his pillowcases often but I can't find anything to put over the pillow to protect it from absorbing his drool. Please help!

Walmart has zippered plastic pillow covers. I have been using these with my children since I gave them a pillow. We had a puking incident and I had to throw away the pillows. I found these in the bedding section. They work great no more stinky gross pillows.
Hi A. - I've washed my kids' pillows in super hot water then fried them in the dryer for a couple hours. It worked well, and they came out "april fresh" ;)
Hi A.!
My suggestion is to get one of those pillow cover alergen reducers. You can get them at Target and Walmart for very cheap. At target, they are in the same aisle as the pillows and was less than $3.
Good luck!

Walmart has pillow covers just like mattress covers they are down the same isle as the pillows.. you can also wash your pillows in hot water.. My mother actually does this & the dentist told her it was due to something (sorry my mind just went blank) talk to your peditrician & your dentist.. If you can't find the cover you can go to the fabric store & they have waterproof material & make one. If your in east mesa area let me know my motehr in lawis a seamstress.. good luck
You might be able to find a plastic cover that zips closed and then put your pillow case over that, kind of like a crib mattress protector. Is the pillow machine washable? If yes then use vinegar in your wash. Good luck.
Hello!
Do you think his pediatrician or dentist could comment? Maybe they either have a recommendation or a solution.

You can search online for pillow protectors. I found one at NorthShoreCare.com. Waterproof pillow protectors. It's a little pricey, but has to be better than buying new pillows all the time!
I put an allergy cover over my son's pillow and that seems to work well. They go over the pillow, underneath the pillow case. They seem to be water proof (and dust proof) and they are washable. It's not an expensive cover. I bought one at Wal Mart and the other at Target and they've been working for months.
Hi A.,
You can buy pillow-liners, to go between the case and pillow. They won't absorb everything, but you can take them off and bleach them in the wash all you want, and the pillows should last longer.

If you can sew I would recommend sewing a protective pillow case out of the material that you would use on a crib, under the sheet to protect the matress. It is waterproof. Just sew and add a zipper and you should be good to go.
