I'm having it done 11/1 on my arms (in addition to a tummy tuck).

For me, I eat clean and work out 5 days/week. My arms have carried fat my whole life, that no matter how how I work, doesn't budge. Not with lifting, cardio....anything. Thus, the lipo.

When I spoke to my surgeon, and did all of my research...the bottom line is that if you are working out and dieting, and not getting the results you want, then lipo can do wonders.
But like the earlier poster said, if you don't have those good habits already, and continue with bad ones, weight gain will just happen in different areas.

The benefit to smart lipo is that there is very little down time (none at all, according to my surgeon), and bruising.

Did you watch Dr Oz today, it was all about belly fat. Should be posted on his site.
I had a friend who got lipo. So all of her fat went to different places afterwards. Her C sized boobs turned into double E's and her thighs got tremendously large. Removing the fat from your belly just makes fat go to the other cells in your body. I dont think its worth the money. a healthy diet and exercise is the only way to go.

I didn't get to read the other responses so I may just be repeating. Lipo is NOT for people who are even mildly over weight. If you are you'll just be wasting your money for nothing. Lipo (if you ask a GOOD plastic surgeon) is for people who are in shape or are on the whole happy with what their body looks like except for a few problem areas. With lipo they don't cut skin away so it's best for small areas (like a little pooch on your otherwise flat tummy). Also they have done studies that show if you don't maintain a healthy diet then the fat CAN come back but mostly in your upper abdomen and boobs/back/arms area.. Granted this is not stopping me from getting it as soon as I have my baby and my skin settles I just like to go in fully aware. My aunt was really really overweight and had lipo, she looked amazing for about 6 months then she gained it all back. It's not a miracle fix, you still have to eat right and all that jazz but it's definitely a great little helper for those spots that just won't go away... If you are looking for a more drastic change to the muffin top area a mini tuck might be better.. good luck!

OK. I just don't see how fat goes to other places unless you overeat.
Lipo only works for those in shape. It is not for the overweight or obese.
Lipo, like any procedure, has risks. If not done correctly, you will have ugly, uneven spots.

i had 2 c sections worked out no matter what i did i had that muffin pooch. Finally when I went for a check up i asked my doctor about what can i do. And basically he said i should get a mini tummy tuck. So that is what i would recommend. a mini is less expensive than a full, but google mini tummy tuck to see the difference and maybe visit a doc in your area. I know all body shapes and sizes are different. My boys are 1 yr 3 months apart so this worked for me.
