Oh no!!! It's The Man Cold!!

Give him a mug of hot tea with a double shot of Jack. It will stop the whining.

Get this, we are BOTH sick!

I like to be left alone, he likes a lot of attention.. I slept in our daughters room this afternoon, so he could couch and snore on his own..

I am trying to be patient, but he keeps asking me questions.. I can hardly speak without choking!

DH is the worst sick person ever. I give him extra Nyquil and send him to bed. Otherwise he is whining and moaning about how he is going to die. The best part? When *I'm* sick, he immediately launches into paranoia about himself getting sick. "Oh my stomach hurts too..." Fun times. :)

I have sympathy for him and care for him, but he doesn't turn into a jerk when he gets sick, either:) LOL:)

BUT, I'm the one that gets sick more often. He is THE BEST spouse-nurse EVER.

man its the end of days if mine gets sick.
Roar'in like a bull elephant seal on a beach full of hot mama seals, He bashes, and crashes his way to the bathroom like he is king of the world, whines and cries. GIVE ME THIS GIVE ME THAT... If he does sleep I am so happy. I have occasionally slipped a little of this or that in his tea when he needs it, like anti-histamines or cold remedy (he is that kind of person that thinks only natural remedies from home will cure him, NOT modern medicine cause they dont know what they are doing and he does). If he is sleeping, kindly ask him to go to the bed room. Tuck him in like a baby, close the door and dont go in there till he emerges as a butterfly. LOL

Me? I get a "hope you feel better" Ro pooped again. Oh hun, want a glass of water? here ya go. Got to work. "see ya soon" whoosh no where to be found

Of course I have some sympathy for my hubby when sick, but we have respect for each other (or try not to be to snippy when not feeling well). We live in a very small 2 bedroom house so we have the rule if you want to have peace then nap/sleep in your bed. We will be as quiet as possible but we are not going to be mice all day tip-toeing around the house. If hubby is in the coach and complaining we are being too loud I nicely say 'sleep in bedroom if you want more peace.'

If you are ready for bed let him be and get some sleep, he is a grown-up and can crawl in bed if he wants to. The only thing I do to go out of my way is to make sure if he wants a comfort food or drink I will get it for him.

I would put him in your bedroom and sleep elsewhere so he doesn't get the whole family sick. Yes, I have sympathy but it makes me mad when they don't isolate themselves-I don't need everyone sick!

Yes I do, but then I always wanted to be a nurse and I have cared for many family members when they were ill and even when they have passed away, so I guess it's in my nature to nurture. I always have sympathy for anyone who is sick. If it were me I would just take off his shoes, make sure he had a pillow, feel his head and put a cover on him. If he was hot I would make him take some fever reducer, if not, just make him comfy and go on to bed. Some rest will do him, and you wonders :D

Yes I do. He also takes care of me when I am sick. I suppose I would feel a wee bit different if he turned into a jerk though. If it were mine, I would gently ask him if he needs anything or would like to come to bed, or if he is more comfortable sleeping on the couch. I would bring him a fresh glass of juice/ice water, a little snack, some meds and tissue. Then I would tell him I am going to bed and give him a kiss on the forehead.

My DH was sick last week and was home three days laying on the couch. I felt bad for day 1 1/2 but after that I was like Ya know what if I were sick I wouldn't get to sleep on the couch for 3 days! I'd still be expected to have the kids clothed, fed, and run around.

of course. not surprised he was crabby (he's sick), but he can put himself to bed, i'm guessing.
not sure why anyone wouldn't have sympathy for a sick family member. doesn't mean you have to coddle whining or anything, but yours doesn't sound bad at all.
