I think the video says it all. And it cheers me up when my husband is home sick.
OK - so when DH gets 'sick' the whole world comes to a Stop! He's got Pink Eye..... not something terminal YET one would think when talking or looking at him that its something SO AWFUL! I cant touch anything -dont want to spread it, I cant go out in public - looks gross, I cant , I shouldn't, I'm not gonna..... SO again, Mommy does EVERYTHING ! I wish I had it, because I would LOVE, at least 24 hrs, of not being able to do Anything, touch anything, go anywhere, work, LOL you get it! AND if I did have it, ALL you mamas Know full well I would Still be doing Things !! maybe not so much w/ my DS, I cant imagine putting that goop in my babies eyes 4x a day. SO him not being around DS is understandable. BUT not taking our dog to the vets today cause '"its oozing down my face and I dont want them to be like why did you come here, Gross". When i left him this morning, it was puffy, NOT oozing down his face. Conveniently enough it started oozing when I walked out the door ! aaaahhhhhhh just a vent about wussy husbands!! LOL Thank God were the ones to have the babies !!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) thanks for listening !
Ok ladies, now i feel like a Dink ! lol he just called me at work and said is right eye is completely swollen shut and he feels like something is stuck in there :-( hes calling his PC to see if they can get him to be seen soon. which means I still have to bring the dog to the vet and Possibly drive DH to the Dr, cause he cant see out of one eye.............aaaaaahhhhhhhh lol

LOL!!!! *raising hand* I got one of them, too!! I can't decide if HE is more work or if I'm just exhausted at the end of a day from trying NOT to roll my eyes or sighing and hiding the grimace of utter, unadulterated distain off of my face while he struggles with what may his last moments on Earth.
I feel your pain. My hubby was diagnosed Monday with strep. He told me during the night, while writhing in (his words, not mine) unbearable pain, "I don't think I'm gonna make it". I laughed and he got mad. Men are bigger babies than our kids unfortunately.
I'm convinced if men had to give birth, the world as we know it would not exist. Good luck, laugh it off and remember - women really are the stronger sex. :)
Too many women are wussies and don't stand up for their needs..You need to.
All I can say to him is Suck it up...You're not dying! Wash your hands frequently and keep kleenex and sanitizer by him at all times. It would be good to stay away from the baby that I agree. As far as anything else. He and all other husbands need to get a life...be a man and take responsibility!
Now come on...you know if you had the pinkeye it would all of a sudden not be "that" bad of an affliction and you would STILL be expected to do everything!
Thank GOD I don't have 1 of those husbands...
Hang in there it's just pink eye
My husband is the exact same way....they ARE the weaker sex. My DH gets a sore throat and his legs don't work, he can barely walk.
2 days ago, I had food poisoning, ended up with a UTI and I'm 4.5 months pregnant. I was miserable. I still did a few things around the house and watched the kids. If I were him, I'd be in bed moaning and sounding like I was calling from my deathbed for a cup of tea. I always joke that in my next life, I am coming back as a man - you can pee in the woods without it hitting your shoes, no periods and you don't have to deliver babies....or marry them! LOL
PS SUSAN K'S VIDEO LINK IS HYSTERICAL. I HAD TO CUT AND PASTE IT IN THE URL.
Men are all that way! When I have a cold, my hubby is sorry for me, but what's for dinner? When he has a cold, the whole world stops turning. LOL.
HAHAHAHA!! At first I read 'husbands weenie'... oh my, I need more coffee... ANYWAY, I can totally relate! ALL guys are like this! Over the SIMPLEST stuff too! Cut your leg with a circular saw? That's awesome! Got a runny nose? WAAAAAH! HONEY I DON'T FEEEEL GOOOOD! Seriously?! Who takes care of ME when I'M sick?! NO ONE! My new rule, if my guy is sick, I will go to the store if you need medicine or something, I will make you soup, but I am NOT running your bath, fetching you snacks, getting the remote control for you, not listening to whining... you can quarentine yourself in the bedroom and stick it out solo buddy!! Want sympathy? Call your mom... here's the phone dear. It's not that I don't care, in fact, I'm more prone to bend over backwards if you're a silent sufferer... but the constant whining makes me want to cover my ears and run away and hide!! Hope your hubs feels better soon :)
Don't you know when you say "I do" it is like giving birth because you definately gain another child????!!!!
If he has pink eye, he really should expose others because it really is contagious but he doesn't have to be such a baby. My hubby is the same way.
You don't want to get it because we don't get to take the time off and be babied like they are.
.
Pink eye is very contagious so it's best he stay home. Sorry!
lol yeah men have it EASY compared to the women....THANK GOD my husband will (in his mind) numb out pain so he CAN keep going. he's even gotten to the point of not telling me when something hurts because i'll have to make him take it easy so he wont cost us a bigger dr bill (tore his miniscus, and took him almost A MONTH of pain before he finally said, i need to go to a dr-and viola, SURGERY TIME) had broke a tooth one day and didn't tell me at all he was in pain and finally one morning at 2AM woke up crying (he dont' cry) i asked him what was up, he told me tooth hurting for about a month and asked if he should go to dentist, i told him i didn't care, rolled back over and went back to sleep...that's when he realized, i'm not gonna feel sorry for you if you don't speak up.
i'm the weenie in our relationship....but he spoils me BIG time too if i even say OUCH! like a grease burn or something ...here comes the stampeed of 3 kids and the hubby with ice packs in each hand and ready to literally carry me to the couch....gets kinda annoying sometimes lol
Men are complete babies over EVERYTHING. However, pink eye does NOT make you feel sick, so there needs to be some "sucking it up." He can easily do stuff around the house today.
Not to take his side, but most doctors will tell you to keep to yourself when you have it for 24-48 hours after starting meds. It is HIGHLY contagious, so it's quite likely both you and the baby will wind up with it. Lysol and anti-bacterial everything will help in the fight, but last fall my two boys had it, and I thought I had escaped -only to get it 2 weeks later (something, somewhere had escaped my Lysol wipes)! It IS gross, and I can't blame him for not wanting anyone to see him. Many offices/workplaces and all schools have a policy against anyone showing up with it because of its highly contagious nature. The vets would NOT have been happy to see him because they don't want it, their other clients don't want it -and animals can get it!
Put him to work around the house helping you do some things today -there's no reason he can't be productive around there or in the yard.
My husband had a stuffy nose and told me he was definitly coming down with pneumonia. I'm surprised my eyes don't get stuck for the amount of times I roll them when he catches a horrible desease. The reason it didn't turn in to pneumonia is he took precautions. Immediatly he sent himself to bed, requested liquids both hot and cold every hour, cancelled all chores as to not wear himself out and possibly have a relapse of something he DOESN'T HAVE, spoke in a wisper to not lose his voice and periodically asked me to feel his glands to see if they were swollen. Oh, when I said you don't even have a fever he said it was much worse, that he had a low grade fever 97.5 as opposed to 98.6. I kid you not. The man is a whimp when it comes to being sick. The last time he got a hang nail I asked him should I call the EMT's.
I think they are all like that :).
When my husband has a hedache he lies down and takes a nap. When I have a headache I do an Art project laundry and cook dinner... I actually feel guilty if I lie down! Oh why do we do that to our sleves????
FYI - although Pink Eye is contageous, as long as he doesn't touch his eye and something else he can't spread it.
This is why women give birth.
Here's a hilarious "Man Cold" video to distract you"
First of all in defense of men. Not ALL men are wusses. Yup I dated my share of wusses but fortunatly married a non-wuss. I have two children and one grown-up husband. Thank god because I wouldn't have the patience for anything else.
My husband is the same way. The world must come to a complete stop when he gets "sick." I have a hard time showing him any sympothy or caring for him when he's like that. Drives me completely insane!! All I get when I'm sick is "I'm sorry your not feeling well." And off to work he goes. Oh well, just proves women are the stronger sex! LOL
Good luck and I hope your hubby feels better soon so you can feel better too!
or...he could passive-aggressively complain about having the WORSE cold in the world (which is actually--in his mind--a rare viral encephalitis that will inevitably result in his death); yet must continue to drag himself into work for the good of the "family."
it's one of those "things" we all deal with in marriage. my solution: suck it up; and guilt-trip the hell out of him once he's recovered for a new bracelet or a spa day..:-)
i feel you...
