Hello ladies,

Has anyone ever gone to a shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center? We are thinking of going tomorrow and I was curious of where we should go for good viewing. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Yes, we've gone a couple of times because we have friends who are astronauts and they invited us to go. :) We got free passes to the launch viewing area, but I think you can buy tickets to that also, as there were thousands of people there to do the same thing, and I am pretty sure they weren't all friends or family. However, if you go to Cocoa Beach, you will have a great view from there also. Or, on Merritt Island, on the inlet you will have a great view. The advantage of those spots is that you won't have the traffic issue as much as long as you drive away pretty quickly after the launch. You also won't have the expense of the tickets. I'm not sure how much they cost, but I think they are pretty costly. My inlaws live on Merritt Island, so they just walk out onto their driveway and watch the launches. You can't see it leave the pad from there, but as soon as it clears the trees/houses, you can see it really well. Have fun!!
