Should I Get My Sitter Something If I Bought Her Daughter Something

I bought my sitter's daughter a Christmas present, who is like my son's best friend, a nice Christmas gift. So here's my question, with the fact that I got my sitters daughter ($30-$40 range) a gift for Christmas, should I still get my sitter something? I don't want to not get her something when I should, but money is super tight.

TIA

What can I do next?

I always get bonuses from the parents that I work for. In fact, the woman that I babysit for just gave me a nice travel mug and a gift card from Target. It's so nice to feel appreciated and thought of. If you can't afford much, I'd bake some cookies and write her a nice card letting her know how much you appreciate what she does. Like teachers, childcare providers are overworked and underpaid, so it's a nice gesture when we are recognized.

Honestly, it is the sitter that you are showing appreciation for. I have had people I babysit for give my children small gifts on Christmas, when they exchange gifts that I have bought for them, but the parents always did something for me. I understand that money is tight, so it does not have to be a lot. An ornament, gift card, offer to babysit one night for her to go out..anything really. It is always a good idea to show appreciation for your childs care provider..just my opinion. ~A.~

Most of my families (I have 15) give just me something. Some give my daughter something as she comes with me to most of my sittings. I get things from gift cards to fuzzy socks... Just the thought counts. Just as if your child was in school you would give their teacher something.... Just a thought. Wether it is a card, gift card or hot cocoa the thought counts.

I agree with the rest. Something homemade or inexpensive would be great for your sitter. Maybe make some homemade fudge and put it in a nice tin or some homemade cookies?

Something simple, even home-made - it's truely the thought that counts.

Yes! It doesn't have to be much, just something to let her know she's appreciated.
