Shaky Boob Trick

How did I make it to 30 without knowing this trick? Apparently if you bend over at your waist after you have put on your bra, grab each cup of the bra and give it a little shake, it will make your bra fit better. Seriously my sister told me this once when I was trying to decide which bra to wear under a shirt. I had no idea! So I brought it up at dinner and almost every girl there knew about it! Except for one and she was older than me so I felt a little better. My friend also laughed because I told her I put my bra on like a shirt, I leave it hooked. She says she hooks her in front and spins it it around, a third girl says she is stealing our tricks, she still reaches back to hook hers. My sister said she puts her on like she puts her pants on, one at a time.Huh? I still haven't figured that one out. So did you know about the shaky boob trick? This is what conversations you get when you mix a bunch of moms and margaritas. :)

LOL Well at least I learned from this experience is that I need to go to a D cup bra! I never knew I was squishing them so much!

Christine: That made ME laugh! No skanky boobs is a whole nother post.

LOL... the shaking wouldn't/doesn't work with me, I'd fall out! I have to individually talk rather sternly to the girls to keep that from happening, and place them manually. Then I can do all the handstands I want and they stay put, because once they're in, they're in. There's no room for them to go elsewhere. But I'm a DDD or DDDD, and I wear demi's or underwire sports bras, so perhaps that's it.

I DO put bras on upside down and backwards, clipping at my navel, spin it around, and then one arm in one strap and one in the other. Then it's time for my daily breast exam as I put them where want them, and tell them where to "look".

A specialist at a bra shop also told me that we should pull out the extra boobage from the side, otherwise, it's stuck there and won't come out on its own. Why is this all so complicated?

LMAO!! I always 'hitch the ladies up'... just reach my hand in there and lift them so they're not trying to slide under the underwire. Granted, I do this in stealth mode... but how is this unlike guys trying to 'adjust their boys'?! It's not... BTW, I get where your friend is coming from. Put your bra on around your waist, hook and shove up, push your right strap up (adjusting that one), then the other. VIOLA!! One leg at a time ;)

YAAAAAAY MARGARITAS!! Mine's vodka, triple sec, and sour mix ;)

I have always done the shaky boob trick--lol. Women with larger breasts have to really make sure a bra fits good and holds the girls in--so yea, we do what we have to do!!!! LOL

I have never heard of that and I'm only 30, lol! I can not figure out how girls put them on and hook it in the back themselves. I have to hook it first, and put it on like a T shirt also. I am small (A cup) so I guess I have never had a reason to "shake" them into place because I don't have much to shake, lol!

My Aunt taught me the shaky boob trick. It does help everything settle better into the cups.
Also, I hook my bra in front than "spin" it around - then bend over and shake into it.
Such a production!
Since I am barely an A cup, I prefer to fore-go the bra and just wear a tank top most days.
LOL

This question made me laugh! I read "skanky boobs" too!

I don't "shake" but I "scoop" lol. I also reach around to hook my bra. I used to clasp in front and turn it around..I dont know why I stopped!

One of my friends didn't know about scooping, and on her wedding day she said her inserts weren't giving her the lift she wanted. I told her to pull them up, which confused her, so her sister reached in and did it!

I've never heard of the shaky boob trick. I would never THINK that ANYONE would leave their bra hooked and put it on like a shirt. I would never THINK that ANYONE would hook it in the front and then turn it around (why not buy the bras that hook in the front??) Hilarious. Makes me wonder if I am doing it all wrong!??!?! I'll try your 'shaky boob trick' tomorrow. :) And I think it's about time for me to have a mom's margarita night. :)

I just recently heard of the "put it on like a shirt" that one i'm still puzzling in my mind, but i'im big chested, maybe that's why?
for the record, I either reach around or do the spin. Usually i'm to lazy to bend over and shake, but when i was fitted one time by a professional she told me to do it that way, Oh and when buying my wedding dress. huh.

I don't remember how long ago it was (more than 15 years probably) but at some point in my life I was buying a new bra in a department store and the sales lady came in the fitting room to help size me and as she put the bra on me she told me to bend over to fit it better on the breasts - I'm not sure there was any "shaking" involved, but pretty much the same. Had that not happened to me I don't think I would know about it to this day. It has stuck with me though. I put both hands through the straps and place the bra on my chest and then I bend over for best "placement" and reach back to close the hooks. I don't think hooking in front and spinning it around is a "trick" - that's what women who aren't coordinated enough to reach back and do it do! Fun topic - I can totally see my girlfriends and me getting into this conversation!

I think if one can leave their bra hooked and pull it on like a T shirt they must not need a bra.

I do exactly what Riley does....except I only wear sports bras for sports...otherwise, the girls are manually pulled up one at at time into the cup. And those 36G's stay put...I love boob questions.

Too funny. My mom taught me all that and I in turn have taught a few of my friends. Never could do the hook behind the back thing. The razor backs are more supportive for bigger boobs. Try Maiden Form razor back that clasps in front. Dont do victoria sercet, too much money and fall apart. Also, padded bras make you have to buy a cup size bigger.

Did you also know to throw out your bra after 4months? By then its all streatched out.

One of my friends also told me that she would wear her bra after the wash so it would retain its shape. I just hang dry mine cause the dryer kills it.

I know you got lots of responses, but one thing I wanted to add...you definitely need to be sized by a professional. If you could pull your bra over your head like a T-shirt, your band size is probably too large. I used to wear a 38C. Turns out, when I was sized at Nordstroms, I was a 34 DDD. And they showed by the best way to put it on, too. :) Good luck!
