Shaking off the Bad Mood

Hi everyone!

So the last couple of weeks I've been in a funk of sorts. I don't know what it is or what it stems from, I just woke up one Sunday and I seem down a lot. I'm not down on any one thing inparticular, it's anything really. I've bit a couple of random stragers heads off, clearly they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time with me (I do feel bad). I feel really annoyed w/my kids and it annoys me more when my hubby wants to try and hug me to make me feel better. I seriously just want to hole up in my bedroom and be alone.

What is wrong with me? Why did I just wake up one day in a funk and I've been living with a grey rain cloud over my head since? I have tried to relax, watch a movie, go out on a date with the hubs etc.. but as soon as my high in that moment is over, the funk returns. How do I shake this??

What can I do next?

Hi H.. OK. This can happen to everyone. So I have some questions to help you ponder how to handle:
-- Are you exercising? Exercising releases endorphins which improve mood.

-- How are your eating habits? Are you dieting? Have you cut anything out of your diet which could affect mood?

-- Have you been through a life change recently? Death? illness? Move? Job change?

-- ARe you sleep deprived?

-- Are you taking time for yourself on a regular basis?

-- Do you have a big birthday coming up?

-- Do you have any regrets about where your life is now? Can you make changes? Concrete ones? Can you forgive yourself for any recent mistakes?

-- Can you talk about any of the above with a friend or family member? Priest? Rabbi etc...

-- Would you consider talking to a counselor?

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

I get very grumpy when
A) I am sleep deprive
B) I haven't eat in many hours
C) I am going to have my period
D) I have being pushing my self to much and finally I start to brake down.
Those days I just need some time alone, is not because of my kids or my husband but I just need 20 min. to my self.
No wonder why sometimes I spend so much time in the bathroom, lol.
Hope you feel better soon.

hi H., i am by no means an expert... but i do happen to know a little about depression and i wonder if this could be the start of one? everyone gets the blues now and then, but if your "funk" last longer than 2 weeks you should definitely talk to a medical professional-family doctor or gyn. i wish you all the best.

It's great that your hubby is sweet enough to hug you when you are down. My SO listens but he looks at me like he wishes he was someone else. I've learned to just figure out what's really bothering me and work it out myself. Plus, it's really hard for me to be in a funk when my LO tells me "its okay mommy, I will take care of you."

I hope you are feeling better today!

How old are you now? How old are you now? How old are you H., how old are you now?

Honestly, talk to you doc about how you've been feeling, there may be a simply answer, diet, exercise, perhaps medication. I prefer not to use Rx unless it is REALLY the only answer.

I get in to these moods sometimes and sometimes it's just because I'm missing my dog that died a couple of months ago....or missing my grandmother who passed years ago (but it's around a holiday or her birthday).....Try to think, why am I so sad right now? It's perfectly to be sad and to cry unless, it's long term and you don't know why.

Also, you might consider keeping a diary each day about how you are feeling. If you can recall what happened just before you got into your funk, try to back track and write it down.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Blessings.....

Can't say this enough, 10,000+ units of Vitamin D, liquid preferred and apples, apples, apples. Super duper depression cures.

Speaking for random strangers who don't like to be attacked by strangers may I suggest either speaking to a doctor and not a group of moms or staying in said room.

I mean it is not fair on the world around you to bear the brunt of your anxiety.

What causes it can be anything from all the rain some parts have been getting to depression.
