Okay, one more time.

Did anyone hear about this story of the woman who was driving and ran out of gas so left her 2 year old son in their UNLOCKED car, all alone, in the dark while the Mother and her 4 year old daughter walked a mile down the road and were gone for an hour?

The poor little toddler is missing and I guess apparently she has been cited for leaving him unattended before in 09. Its so heart breaking that some people are allowed to have kids! I am in shock, I would never even consider leaving my son in the car.

I truly hope that they find him safe, and that his parents are punished severely!!!

Has anyone else read this story today?

Hope this one doesnt get deleted too!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies for letting me on the secret of not putting the link in the question. Sorry about that but here is the link now

I am still horrified that this would happen. Its just so unnecessary. But I agree, there has to be something weird and fishy about this story. Sad thing is who know when we will know the truth, just like in poor baby Lisa's case. Its been weeks and now she has unfortunately been out of the news recently. I really hope that this isnt another case where we wont know for years. I hope he is found soon and safe. Poor baby, I dont feel bad for the parents one bit, I only feel bad for the baby.

Hug your kiddos tight, and say a prayer for this one's safety..

I hadn't heard about this until you posted about it (several angry times earlier). It is a huge shame & I certainly hope they find this baby safe & sound quickly.

Based on what you were saying earlier about "some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids" -- which I am definitely paraphrasing -- I read another article: http://rockcenter.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/07/8640744-...

I'm very curious what your opinion is on this particular, very closely related article?

I read it. I'm sorry but what kind of idiot would leave a 2 year-old in the car alone to go walk and get help? Seriously??? This is just fishy to me. She takes the 4 year-old and leaves the 2 year-old by himself? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Why are people deleting this?

If nothing else, the other thread had a link to the article so people could see the kid's face and maybe help locate him. Reporting this is just stupid.

I fear that there is foul play involved. If she was cited before, then maybe she never wanted him. You don't leave your kid. You call someone. You carry him. You get the stroller and walk him. You don't abandon your child. It would be a slow walk, but a 2 yr old can walk.

Added: Melissa, I just saw your post. This kind of tragedy sounds very much like the way Hitler saw things, isn't it.

I do think that most people who actually say that someone should be able to have kids is just a knee-jerk reaction, and that they don't really MEAN that they should be sterilized against their will.

Original:

I hope I can get this sent to you in case this goes again! I tried twice, and poof, there it went!

I think the computer is pulling your threads. They don't like having a link in the original posting, because they think it's an ad. You didn't put the "ad" in this time, so it should be okay.

I don't think that a PERSON is reporting you. It's the computer, most likely.

What I THINK you can do is put the link in your SWH.

Does this help?

It sounds like the mom wanted the 2-year-old to disappear. I mean, you take the four-year-old but not the two-year-old? Really? You'd leave the youngest one in the car?

I'd say the mom has had enough strikes against her. My hope is that the youngest one is adopted out and finds a better family who will love him. Sounds like he isn't really wanted.

It's way too similar to the episode of SVU I just watched. A couples baby died unexpectedly so they drove to New York and staged it to look like they left the car running. They claimed the car was stolen with the baby in the back. That was all a lie of course. I truly hope that isn't the case in this situation.

your posts keep getting deleted because you have a link in it - "the ask network does not support links"...I know, I know, I know...there have been many posts NOT PULLED that have links in the questions...

others get around it by posting the link in the So What Happened...try that.

Some moms just don't THINK!!!

My SD's mom used to leave her 2-year old at home ALONE and asleep while she came to pick her SD up from our house. She would be gone for maybe an hour. She stopped when we threatened to call DCFS. Every time my SD goes over there I fear for her, because you never know what kind of dumb mistake might be made.

Sad. So sad.

Why are people deleting this? We have a duty as mothers to spread the word about anything that could hurt our children. Stupidity could hurt our children! Seriously though, we should share the mistakes people make with the expectation of making at least a few people think twice in the future of making the same choice.

Sounds to me like she stashed him somewhere. She's in a custody battle and the police can find no evidence that she actually ran out of gas. I can't imagine leaving my 2 year old in the car by himself for an hour. Even if nothing terrible happened to him, he would be hysterical and terrified. What a crazy thing to do!

It's horrible but likely she was thinking that the 4 year old and she could walk for help but it would be too far for the two year old who is likely too big for her to carry for several miles. AAA? That little E sign on your dashboard? She could have called the police.
