Hello Mommas!
I'm looking for recommendations on books that focus on the power of positive thinking. There are so many out there, I thought I would try to narrow it down a bit. Have you read something you liked?
Thanks!

I agree with the Bible and Joel Osteen. I also like Joyce Meyer's books.

I have most enjoyed, Byron Katie's book, Loving What Is.. She and yes, it's a she gives you exercises to do to help you turn around negative thoughts you might be carrying around. Some of her work can be found on YouTube under "thework" check her out and see if it's for you.. Also, I LOVE Dale Carnegie and Zig Ziglar...

Hi! Read the book "The Four Agreements". It's amazing! It will teach you a completely different way to filter information so it's received without our past negative thoughts and teachings. Also, there is a DVD called "What The Bleep Do You Know". It's excellent! Good luck on your positive journey. It's like seeing everything in a brand new way!!

An insightful book which I enjoyed was “The Nine Rooms of Happiness: Loving Yourself, Finding Your Purpose, and Getting Over Life's Little Imperfections” by Lucy Danziger. It compares your life as rooms in a home, and helps you figure out what part of your life needs work. Very interesting and I learned a lot about myself.

You have to find books that speak to you. I don't like the Joyce Meyer books, too preachy. My best advice is to tell you to go to the library and read through a few books before taking them home. If you really like them then you can purchase them. Barnes & Nobels has tons of self help books , but you can also check out thrift stores and yard sales.
The Road Less Traveled series is great but written somewhat like a textbook, so a little hard to read.
It might be better if you re-post and give us a bit of detail on exactly what you are working on. This way we can offer better advice.
The greatest thing is you asked for help. That is the hardest step to take.
Love and Light

What Happy Women Know by Dan Baker and Cathy Greenberg; it's a great book about positive psychology and how it can be applied to our lives. Two others I like are Learned Optimism by Martin Seligman, and Authentic Happiness, also by Martin Seligman. The last two are a little textbook-like in writing style, so may be harder to get through, but the first one is a great one that I really loved.

I second the Bible. That's the one and only for me. I don't even like self-help books of this sort because they stray so far away from God's truth.
