Seeking Recommendations for GOOD Fertility Doctor

I have had a really bad experience with the fertiltiy doctor I have been seeing. His office is always overbooked, he doesn't seem to listen to me and I always leave upset and more confused than when I walked in. Can anyone suggest a doctor who will actually listen to me and explain the whole process in a way a non-medical person would understand?

What can I do next?

I know exactly how you feel.-I used to go to a group of doctors and felt like I was only a means for them to make money and that they really did not have any interest in helping me! Then, several years ago I was told about Dr. Vincent Pellegrini in West Reading who, along with his staff, is a very caring fertility doctor. I have had two successful invitros and have never been disappointed that I chose to seek him out!

Here's the info:
Dr. Vincent Pellegrini
Women's Clinic Ltd
301 S 7th Avenue-Suite 385
West Reading, PA 19611

I have to ditto on the Mainline Fertility. I've seen all three docs at this point and have had a great experience with all three. The staff is sweet and wonderful and the docs are a riot. They listened to me and were willing to work with our situation and also kept it light because seriousness makes me nervous. Dr. Glassner declared war on my ovaries, Dr. Pfeffer and I joked about ways to torture my husband with tests as well and Dr. Orris actually LET my husband aid in the IUI yesterday, thus enabling me to say that my husband impregnated me (hopefully!) while two other men watched.

Highly, highly recommend.

Jackie Gutman, she is now at Northern Fertility. All offices from my experience are overbooked - but she was honest with me and "knew me" thru the whole process - I went thru IVF 3x before having my daughter 6 months ago. If I did it again, I wouls go back to her.

I went to Dr. El-Roeiy at Crozer Chester Medical Center. http://www.crozerfertility.com/
He was really nice. I saw him after my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Since it had taken me a long time to get pregnant the first time, and so I was worried that I would have difficulty again. He listened to me and he made me feel better. I only saw him once, because after seeing him, I decided to try again for a few months before going through all the testing, and I was lucky enough to get pregnant on my own. I think that he's the only doctor in the practice, but I didn't have to wait too long to get an appointment. Good luck.

Hello K.,
I had a wonderful experience at Main Line Fertility. My doctor was Dr. Orris, but each doctor was so very pleasant. I only saw another doctor if Dr. Orris happened to be out of town which was not that often. They have a few offices available and the doctors travel between them. Each time I went there I felt like Dr. Orris knew my case like I had been seeing him for years. He never had to review my charts while I sat in front of him waiting. He gave me a plan for what I should be doing in between visits. He was wonderful! I started on Clomid, then went to shots. He evaluated my husband as well. It was a team effort. I saw him for close to two years and then I was blessed with twins. The only sad part was that after my 12th week of preganancy I had to go back to my OBGYN. I really wish Dr. Orris could have been there to deliver the twins. I can't say enough wonderful things about the doctor, staff, and experience. They have a website

I wish you all the best K.. I know one day your dream will come true. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I went to Abington Reproductive Medicine. I loved their office. I have PCOS, and it took 15 months with them to conceive my daughter, who is now 2. They explained the options to me, and didn't push me into IVF, which we thankfully didn't need. I did 8 cycles with injectable FSH and hcg and then an IUI when I ovulated. Most doctors tell you to move to IVF after about 4 cycles. I rarely had to wait for an appointment. If I was scheduled for an ultrasound at 8:00 AM, I was taken back right away. The nurses where also fantastic, which is important because you will see them during a lot of your visits. Good luck with whoever you choose.

I don't know who you are seeing right now, but I went to Main Line Fertility, Dr's Glassner, Pfeffer and Orris. Dr. John Orris was my primary Dr and I just loved them. The staff also is wonderful and what I also liked was that they saw you very quickly and on time. I went for many years and sometimes had to go in every other day for monitoring and ultrasounds. Working full-time makes this difficult so I always appreciated that I would get in and out pretty quickly. He is also very kind and patient and always took the time to talk about things and listen when I needed to talm and ask questions. I've also heard great things about the other Dr's, but my main experience was Dr. Orris, so I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I'm not sure where you are located b/c that's a factor, but I think he primarily sees patients in Paoli Medical Center (next to the hospital) and also just recently opened an office in Chester County. Glassner and Pfeffer seem to be more in Bryn Mawr Hospital. If you need anymore specific information, just feel free to email me. This is always a difficult thing to go through and you really need a Dr you feel you can trust and understands your issues. Good luck!
