I'm looking for parents of "older kids". My son is nearly 10 and for his birthday inDecember we're looking for a place to go that inside and inexpensive. Mostly I want to be able to invite his friends and allow them space to play together preferably for less than $100.

What can I do next?

HI There - I have a 10yr. old boy, and the 2 favorite things we have done on a budget have been in-door miniature golf in Milpitas, CA and Dave and Busters in Milpitas, CA as well. Boys love to be physical and they are so competitive in a good way of course....and they love video games...UGH.

Hello B.,

http://www.nothingbuthoops.net/ We attended a birthday party here and it was awesome. You might want to call and ask them if they have a Oakland facility.

Good Luck!

We've been to great kids' rock climbing parties at Mission Cliffs as well -- they have trained staff who take care of all the climbing, safety and activities, so the parents just stand around, talk and take pictures. It is great.

Good Luck!

What about a party at a rock climbing gym? You didn't say how many children you were thinking of, it's $100 for up to 5 children at this place, just opened a new gym in Oakland. We go to the one in the Mission District and always have a good time as a family.
