Does anyone have recommendations for a petting zoo that will come to your house? Thanks in advance
Thanks for everyone's feedback. Unfortunately, the recommendations were too far away from where the party is going to be located. I decided to go with Tickle Me Pony, and they will come to my area. The party is in July, but so far my contact there has been very responsive. We are going with a pony, and a mini petting zoo.
Pony Up did a great job. Really sweet, well cared for animals and it went off without any problems. They have a website www.ponyupfun.com
If the other suggestions don't work out consider Classroom Safari. They are not exactly a petting zoo but they give a good presentation and the kids do get to pet some of the animals. They came to my house for a party a few years ago and the kids loved it. They brought (small) exotic cats, a ferret, lizards, a hedgehog, etc. The birthday child can even take a pictures wrapped in a snake.

While I don't know about a petting zoo for parties, I thought you might like to know about another related party idea. It's a different twist on the animal theme. The Oakland Zoo does that. I'm not sure whats there ,limits but they come to you so try calling them!
Stay clear of Victorias Fashion Stables in Petaluma . They
were not great with kids . They made a big deal about the cats and dogs the kids could pet they couldn't pet the goats they didn't deliver the pig he was sleeping then there was 3 guinnea pigs and 6 rabbits that bit .
If you have a local parents magazine, check in the back, they usually have references/advertisements for all sorts of parties.

Milpitas Moms and Tots had a petting zoo for a party last year. It came from Pony Up! The owner's name is Jen. She's from Gilroy but she travels where you need her. She cares for the animals herself unlike some of the other petting zoos. At the party, she had pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats. The kids had a blast.

Two by Two Petting Zoo is good. They are in the phone book and do a lot of events on Chico State campus.

I just looked where you live, too far from Bakersfield. For other moms though in Bakersfield, there's a petting zoo on Allen and Hageman that does parties there and will do them at your home. There's also a place on Rosedale/Jewetta that is called Grandpa's Farm--we had our 4 year old's b-day there in December. I think they might also come to you.
I had a petting zoo for my daughters party about 7-8 years ago and it was great. I don't know if they are still doing it but they were called Bsrnyard Buddies in fresno, clovis or sanger. They had pony rides and backed up a trailer to my front yard put a fence up and let out a whole bunch of animals. Lots of animals and babies tyoo. They kept the yard cleaned up and a good time was had by all. It is very important that you have hand sanitizer for every child as they come out.
