Seeking Ideas for 3 Yr Old Birthday Party

My daughter is turning three this December and I am looking for advice on birthday party ideas. I am trying to decide between doing it at home and bringing in entertainment like clown/magician or do it at an outside venue, specifically "Pump It Up". Has anyone had experience at Pump It Up for 3 yr olds? I am wondering if Pump It Up is too intimidating for 3 yr olds or if they will enjoy it? I have also been looking at "Ann Lincoln Shows" or "Skiddles the Clown" for at home birthday party. Anyone had experience with either of these performers? I thought at home parties might be more intimate and better for this age group, but I have heard parties at outside venues are the thing to do these days. Thanks in advance for your advice!

What can I do next?

I have been to 2 birthday parties for children that age at Pump It up and they seem to have a great time. I would do the birthday party there.

M., I would highly recommend Pump It Up. My 3 year old loves it there and we have been to several parties and she has done great and wasnt afraid at all. Good luck.

We just celebrated my nephew's 3rd birhtday at Pump it Up and had a wonderful experince. All of his friends little gals and guys had a great time. I think they bounced for about 1 1/2 hours and then had cake. Because they bounced for so long there was not time for presents which worked out, at that age the kids would rather bounce than watch someone else open presents.

Hope this helps!
Happy Bouncing

Hi M.
I typically enjoy doing parties at home, although I don't have entertainers come in. I am sure that would be fun. My most favorite planning site is: http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/
They have 100's of ideas, from the simple to the outrageous. I find party planning fun so this has worked for me. We had an airplane party for my 3 year old this past April. What is your daughter into?

We have been to Pump It Up for a birthday party just a few months after James turned 3. He had a blast as did all the kids ranging from 3-6. It's definitely an option. If you live in Boulder, I've heard the Cherryvale Fire Department is great and free. The WOW is also a great place for kids, as mentioned above.

It all depends on the effort you wish to put into it, the amount of $$ you want to spend and then of course what your 3 year old is into.

Have fun with it.
L.

Hi M.,

I don't know where you are located, but I have been to a 3 yr old birthday party with my son at the WOW (World of Wonders) in Lafayette (http://www.wowmuseum.com/index.htm). We had our own party room for the food, balloons and any games you might want to play. After that the kids could explore many different things.

As far as I can tell, ALL the kids LOVED it and the parents can attend for free.

With another kid on the way you might want to take it easy and take advantage of the great offer at WOW.

Cheers,
D.
