My husband and I have decided after much research that we do not want to give our newborn all of the recommended immunizations because we believe that some may cause more harm than good. Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician that is accepting of our beliefs? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi M.,
We are selectively vaxing as well. I could not find anyone in Murfreesboro after asking around a lot. We go to DrDaniel Kalb at Cool Springs Family Medicine. He is super nice and so is his nurse and staff. The phone number is ###-###-####.

I'm not sure what area you are looking in but we go to a Family Practioner in Mt Juliet that we love she will tell you what shots they should have but you can tell her you would rather not do such and such shot or that you want to do 1-2 at a time. All 3 of my kids plus my husband,me,my mom, dad, and brother she her. Christina Savage ###-###-####

We loooove our doctor. We don't vax and he is completely accepting of that. He's a family doctor, doesn't specialize in pediatrics, but I wouldn't consider any one else for my family. He's at Family Practice Associates at Southern Hills Medical Center. ###-###-#### We will be moving about an hour away from there soon, but I plan on making the trip when needed.

Dr Tim Henschel at the Mercy Children's clinic in Franklin is wonderful. We felt the same way, and our midwife recommended him. He has been very supportive of our wishes and our preference for natural methods. Our daughter had no immunizations until she was a year, and even then, it was our choice and we only did two out of the whole gauntlent of them. He would have let us do none at all. I highly reccomend him. Ask for him specifically though, as he is the senior Dr there and not all the others share his understanding. Their # is ###-###-####. They can set up a meet and greet for you. The clinic is also for families with no health insurance(although they take all major plans and have a wide spectrum of patients), and there are Bible verses all around, which may make some uncomfortable, but the care is good and they don't push the religious thing at all. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Hope this helps.
