Does anyone know of a good pediatrician in Dallas that is open to the idea of not starting immunizations immediately following birth / not following the recommended schedule?

Dr. Nina Cahan is a family doc who sees a lot of children (also holds an OBGYN specialty), she is fine with not immunizing right away or at all.
Also, Dr. Tammy Kennedy is in Plano and is a pediatrician. She will work with an alternate schedule or no immunization as well.
Good Luck

Check out Dr. Rao in Plano, he is not a pediatrician but I know how he feels about vaccines. He is an allergists/immunologists but he might be able to recommend a pedi. that will respect your wishes. Also Dr. Alfred Johnson, not sure if he is a pedi but he is a DAN DR and he would probably be able to help you find someone. Hope this helps, good luck.

Dr. Angel Salazar @ White Rock Family Clinic is a great doctor. I took my son to him when he was born and I love the office and the people who work there are great. My son is now 14 months and I love Dr. Salazar. His number is ###-###-####, Good Luck.

We use Dr. Prestidge at Pediatrics Associates of Dallas. www.padnewsletter.com My daughter has special needs and my son has food allergies. He suggested to me to wait on any more immunizations at our last well check visit (we had already decided on that anyway). He also suggested to wait on the MMR vaccinations for my daughter until she started talking. We did do both kids immunizations at first, but I think he is very accommodating to the parents concerns. Not every pediatrician at that office would be as agreeable, so be aware of that. Good luck.

Dr. Bain in Frisco, Texas. May be a bit of a drive but she is a very good doctor. She takes her time is big on nutrition & natural medical interventions. She individualizes immunization schedules & none of her vaccines are combination vaccines (eg. MMR are seperated) ###-###-####

T.,

we also take our little boy to Dr. Anuradha Agrawal and absolutely love her. We decided to only give him a third of the shots and she was a huge help for us to decide which shots are necessary. I couldn't ask for a better pediatrician.

I understand your concern with immunizations regarding the autism scare. In my un-medical opinion, though, the risk of your child contracting the diseases for which we are immunized is far greater than them getting autism. I am not a doctor though so I really have no sway in the matter.

There might be a reason that so many doctors recommend immunizations right away. The effects of Polio are paralysis. What a nightmare that would be for your child to contract that horrible disease. It used to be irradiated but with an unimaginable influx of illegal immigrants we are seeing the formally kaput diseases rear their ugly heads again.

I do have a friend that feels similarly to you though, if you would like I can give your email address to her. Let me know.

Dr. Daryl Curry is awesome! He is in Dallas at Methodist Hospital. He totally does not pressure you. He's like "okay, its totally the parent's decision." Don't listen to anyone else's opinion. Stick to your guns. You are doing the right thing. I have found all sorts of metals in the babies that I am having to remove. (that's what I do for a living) I have autistic children in my practice and it is a proven fact that the immunizations do cause autism. They (the governmnet) have now admitted it.

I just started taking my new baby to Dr. Agrawal (of PGV Pediatrics), and she was the one who brought up the option of delaying vaccinations to me, not the other way around. Her office is near Baylor. I'd highly recommend her; she's great.
