How do i get my girls to stop fighting and arguing over everything? I always thought becasue of the age difference they wouldnt fight so much. There is 6 yrs difference and the oldest one is 12 and she is worse and when her friends are around she is so mean to her. Will they ever out grow this lol

I wish I was writing with a wonderful fix all solution, however I have 3 daughters all 4-5 years apart with the oldest being 11 and your house sounds like a replica of mine. My oldest acts like her younger sister is not as good as the dirt she walks on and she treats her youngest sister only slightly better, and we quit letting her have company over because of the way she treats them both when she does. I think it's the age and quiet possible the age difference. At these ages their likes and dislikes are vastly different and the oldest ones are starting to want their own privacy, more privaledges like a later bedtime, etc.

The only consolation is that I am from a family of five girls and we all get along famously now.

Good luck and try not to pull all of your hair out!

Not that this will help much, but...Sibling Rivalry is Sibling Rivalry. My sister and I are 9 yrs apart and we fought like crazy too. Fist fights and all. Sorry I couldn't help more but the age difference means nothing. Their gonna fight.

hello my name is J.. I have a daughter 11 and a son 5. And they fight something awful. I thought the same thing as you because of the 6 year age difference. My daughter can be so mean to her little brother. I feel at time to rip my hair out. It seems at times that they fight from dusk till dawn. But i also see how fast she comes to his defense. and vise versa. This is what keeps me sane. Knowing that they do actually love each other. I think the age difference is what makes the fighting so bad. But i focus on the good and pray that it ends soon. I also find that if i find my son play dates or let her go to her friends so they are seperated a little the fighting is not so bad. I wish you the best with the situation. And hope for both of us that this passes very soon.

Unfortunately, probably not until they are older!! I am one of two girls and I know that we didn't get along until we were both in college. Even now we still have our days, but we are close friends too.
