I'm seeking a good (and affordable) photographer who can take a family portrait in some kind of outdoor setting. I've gotten some referrals in the past, but all have been too expensive ($600 and over for the smallest package available). Someone near Littleton/Highlands Ranch would be great, who is also very patient with children.

We are "splurging" and spending $300 or so with David Schmidt, because I really think he does some beautiful work, and has an eye for the artistic moments that make a photo special. Also, he's good at getting you to react for the camera, AND he offers to airbrush the little blemishes away to make you look like models, if you want that (I'm not sure about that, but I'm glad to know he's computer savvy and knows stuff like this, (just in case) - he's a professional). My girlfriend, Dee Dee is a photographer in the Castle Rock area, but would be willing to travel, I'm sure. She specializes in photographing children- especially outdoors.
