My husband and I are wanting to do some family pictures with my three year old son this spring and are looking for a local photographer who is both talented and reasonably priced. I would greatly prefer to have someone who provides you with a CD of the pictures versus having to pay for each individual picture that is printed. We don't want to go to a "portrait studio" (we've done lots of those in past), but this time want someone who will do some outdoor shots on location. If any of you have any suggestions of great, kid-friendly photographers you've used, please let me know. We are in The Colony/Frisco/Carrollton area but are willing to travel for the right person.

You should really look at Clarine Smith Photography. She is honestly the best photographer I have ever worked with. Her photos are true pieces of art. For $200 you get a bunch of images on a CD and a photo release so that you can print as many pictures as you like. She also recommends a great professional photo printing website that does a great job printing your photos. She edits all of her photos and I am really not kidding when I say that they are works of art. She manages to get the most amazing shots and is extremely patient with fussy kids. My one-year-old didn't want anything to do with having his picture taken on they day we went. I was really worried we weren't going to get any good photos of him. But once I got the completed photos I was absolutely floored. You would never have guessed that he was fussy at all. They were beautiful pictures. I don't know how she does it. My three year old on the other hand just thought she was the greatest thing since sliced bread. She will shoot at a location of your choosing.

She's very reasonable. She does all the usual poses, but my favs are the ones she's taken of my kids when they didn't know she was still shooting them. Natalie is amazing. She has taken all of my daughters photographs since she was about 6 months old. WE LOVE HER! Her work is beautiful and speaks for itself on her website. I have some incedible pictures of my daughter...who trust me Natalie has to work extra hard to get this little one (now 3 ) to cooperate haha! Plus she give you the CD and copyright to it so you can print what you want when you want. I think she charges somewhere around $150 for the shoot and cd, which is a great price!

Her spring photo shoots are some of my favorites that we have ever done. We did my sons Easter Pics with her last year and oh my gosh I cried when I saw them. (She even used real bunnies) We tried several local photographers before her and there is just no comparison to the work she does. The other awesome thing is she is extremly personable and even when my son was 1 1/2 and afraid of strangers he took right to her. WE just LOVE her!!

She does very non traditional, photo journalistic/edgy style photography. her rates are INSANE (cheap) and she provides an edited CD. it's fabulous.
