Seeking Advice on Gyn-esposito Mayer and Hogan

Hello wise Moms. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to recommend a great GYN from this practice in Columbia. I was hoping to find someone who is sensitive and open minded to current womens health issues. I have found that some GYN's still classify certain issues as age based (ex. that women under 30 can't have breast cancer-which has happened). I just want a provider who will really listen and focus on my health needs as an individual. Any recommendations are appreciated.

What can I do next?

See the midwives associated with this practice. If you really want a woman centered provider seek a midwife!! They WILL listen and respond. Jeaninne is the best one in the practice.
Hope this makes a difference for you.

I see Brenda Casey with them who I love. Unfortunately, she's is on medical leave (at least she was last month) and I don't know why or when she's back. In her absence I saw Dr. Watson who I liked, but don't know a whole lot about!

The best GYN from this practice is no longer with this practice. I met Dr. Francoise Abrams at one of my regular checkups when I was pregnant with my 7 yo. She was so warm and friendly and really patient centered. Several years after my son was born, I became frustrated with all the hassles of dealing with such a HUGE practice and, upon hearing Dr. Abrams had set up a private practice, switched over to her. She no longer practices obstetrics, so if you're planning to have more children, she will not be your best choice.

I have recently begun going to their office, have only seen Dr. Campbell, GYN only and Dr. Hall, OB/GYN so far. So far I have really liked them, I found them to be quite supportive. I still need to get to know the other docs, and have only been there for a couple annuals so far. I am older (39), with a few health complications (type 1 diabetes, hypothyroid) and also looking to conceive for the first time so my visits have been with this in mind primarily. I will be assessing the staff very closely to see if they are the right fit so I will be following the responses here too!!!.

It is a big practice, that's true, but I like it nonetheless. I really like Dr. Mary Hogan and have gone to her for 15 years, except for during my two pregnancies (she got out of obstetrics the year before I become pregnant). I also like the warmth of Dr. Mark Esposito. I had gone to the midwives during my first pregnancy and they were there with me during 20+ hours of labor, but Dr. Esposito ultimately had to come in to perform a c-section. I think he is extremely knowledgeable about newer procedures and products for women, and combines that knowledge with a nice bedside manner.

Since I finished having kids, I've kept seeing Donna Barisich for all my GYN needs there. She is one of the nurse midwives rather than MD but has the knowledge and patient focus that I'm looking for.
