I am considering having my son's 6th Brooomball Birthday party at Stonebriar Ice. Has anyone ever been to or hosted a broomball party there and if so, what experience did you have. If anyone has any recommendations on a great place to have a broomball party (in Dallas, Plano, Lewisville area)that would be very helpful. We will probably have around 30 children.

What can I do next?

Hi M., I have to agree with Mary, it's way to dangerous. I played in Dallas with a bunch of 25-35 year olds and there were several injuries between us. I fell on the ice and landed on one knee, turned black and blue, I didn't want to cry but I almost did! Someone else flipped over the glass railing into some plants and scratched his nose. It's real easy with the brooms to hit someone in the shins. I personally wouldn't let a 6 year old do it, but that's my opinion. But for yourself, it's alot of fun, just wear knee pads!

I went to a broomball party once. It is far more dangerous when adults are on the ice playing instead of monitoring the kids. All the kids when we went had a blast! No injuries. They were also very strict about following the rules. It was at the Star Center in Frisco.

I've been to the Addison Square Garden before, and also the Galleria for broomball. But I've also only gone at midnight with a group of young adults (our church group). Both were great though for broomball! Lots of fun!

Broomball is WAY too dangerous for this age group. My older son went to one when he was 10 and there were several, fairly severe injuries. 5 year olds don't have the judgement to know how to play this game properly. This will be especially problematic with the size of your group unless you have 8-10 other adults conscientiously monitoring. I would recommend bowling or putt putt golf.
