Okay mom's I am looking for a twin bed for my 3 year old daughter and do not want to spend a lot of money. Does anyone know of a second hand store or cheap place to find a decent looking white twin bed. I have shopped around but no good deals yet. Also, where is a good place to get a twin mattress set that won't cost a arm and a leg. I need your help mommys' please let me know. Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

Like the other two responses, I think Craig's List is your best chance to find something. But another option is a consignment store on Inwood Lane, just north of Forest Lane. I can't remember the name right now. They often have a good selection of beds, but they don't carry mattresses. Also, keep your eye out for garage sales. You'll get your best buy there, but of course, it's hard to know what you'll find!

Be willing to consider a daybed. They are great for little ones, because you have a built-in "rail" on the side with the back, and then you can just put a single rail on the other side for safety. If you get one with a trundle, you could let your daughter sleep on the trundle (without raising it) until she is used to that size bed. Good luck!

I'd like to suggest to you that you don't go too inexpensive as I did and it ended up being a bad idea. My son had some sleeping issues with his old mattress. I turned around and got a quality set...not the most expensive but somewhere in the middle/high price range. He now sleeps like a charm. I'm now a firm believer that sometimes you should put a little more into things that involve overall health and quality of life. Goodluck finding just the right bed for your daughter. :-)

I got his set at Mattress Giant on Sale. :-)

We bought my son's bunk bed off of craigslist.org I would try there. You have to watch it carefully...the good stuff goes fast and you may take a little while to find what you are looking for but the savings ususally makes it worth the wait. :)
