Hi Jenna,
My mom and I both have rosacea, and between the two of us, we have tried most topical solutions with no luck. However we were just recommended that we should use Johnson's Baby Shampoo (the original, yellow stuff) and it is working wonders! I know it sounds weird, but we both have seen a considerable reduction in redness, pain and swelling! I hope you find something that works as well for you!

Hi Jenna,
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I don't have any experience with "gestational" rosacea, but I have known people with it and they have used Shaklee's Enfuselle Skin Care and it has alleviated the pain and the redness.
I would be happy to share more information with you, if you'd like.

Hi Jenna:

I too have rosacea and have had it for about 6 years. I have tried some medications, but I'm not real fond of drugs unless there are no other options. I haven't found a drug that has significant enough benefits to warrant me using it. As you can imagine, I have experimented with many things over the years and here is my best advice. To lessen the affects, I try to stay out of the sun, limit spicy foods, limit alcohol (I'm sure you're already doing this) and definitely limit sugar. Reducing all of those things helps. I have also found a line of cleansers, moisturizers, etc. that I have been really pleased with. They are not cheap and insurance does not cover them, but they work. www.bkamins.com. This is a company out of Canada. You can read about them on their website and also order their rosacea products off their site. Mario Tricoci also sells the products. I am not typically a fan of Mario Tricoci, but I was in getting a pedicure and while waiting noticed the products on their shelf. I talked to a cosmetologist there and she told me to try the products and return them if I wasn't pleased - it seemed like a no brainer, so I tried them. They are really good and last quite a long time. Good luck to you!

Hi Jenna,

Congrats on your impending little one!

Rosacea runs in my family and have had a lot of experience with products. First, you have to follow all the rules... avoid sun exposure, coffee, spicy food etc... Then use skin care specifically for irritated skin. Rosacea is actually bacteria on the skin that causes bumps, redness and irritation. I hated being on antibiotics constantly! I have tried everything I could get my hands on. The only thing I found that worked for me is Sonya Dakar skin care. It is expensive but is SO worth it. My Mom, Sister and I all use it and could not live without it. I am not trying to sell you anything.. just trying to help because I know how frustrating it can be. If you live in the city, you could run over to Barney's and get a sample of some of her products. She also sells them online at sonyadakar.com I would look at her website to get some background info on her products. I use the irritation line. I would not bother with the toner or seaweed liposome gel. Stick with the cleanser, omega three oil and moisturizer. We also use Bare Minerals for our foundation. It is fantastic at getting rid of any residual redness. Good luck to you! Hope this helps!

Hi Jenna,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hopefully, your son is excited about being a big brother! I belong to a wholesale shopping co-op that has an incredible line of skin care and cosmetics by Nicole Miller. This wholesale shopping co-op is the only place you can get Nicole Miller skin care and cosmetics. They contain supplemental strength vitamins and botanicals. Many Rosacea sufferers have found relief with these products, here are a few of their product experiences:

I have Rosacea and found that using the Renew Foaming Cleanser followed by Renew lotion helped a lot. Sometimes I would use straight T36-C5 oil at night under the Renew. I'd only do that once in a while for one or two nights. It's really helped. Now I use the Creamy Cleanser and the daytime moisturizer for dry skin and at night use the night time cream. I don't use a toner as it makes things worse. Make sure to use sun screen religiously as sun exposure, wind and blushing can make it worse.

I have Rosacea and have tried everything for it, from
topicals to internal medication and nothing worked for me. I started using the Nicole Miller make up as well as the foaming face wash, the toner and the Daytime Delivery and it's been an absolute Godsend for me.

I have had great success using Provex Plus for my Rosacea. I am
taking it specifically for Fibromyalgia, but a great side effect had been a lessening of the Rosacea.

Rosacea and Nicole Miller Skin Care Products

I was diagnosed by my dermatologist with a mild case of Rosacea and have been using the Nicole Miller Skin Care Products since they came out and have had no problems. I went right to the Nicole Miller line and asked about this.

Hear is a recap of what they told me.

None of the products have alcohol in them. There are no dyes and no added fragrances in the skin care products. The fragrance we smell in the cleansers and moisturizers comes from the essential oils. The Nicole Miller Skin Care products are department store quality and Food Grade quality (just like we would take internally).

Nicole Miller products use immunotech technology that helps deliver the antioxidants, vitamins, etc. to the skin which is based on vegetables and oats. This also improves our immune system. Another technology we have from Switzerland is Nanasome technology. That is also a delivery system to penetrate through the dermis. There are other delivery systems also which is extremely important to the health of the skin because you
don't want the products to sit on top of the skin and clog the pores.

Anyone with Rosacea should avoid being hot, hot drinks, spices,
caffeine, alcohol and the sun. Do not use products that have the hydroxies or Retinal in them. Typically, these are the ones that say "ageless." Someone with Rosacea may need to avoid the foundations and lipsticks. All lipsticks have added fragrance in them plus ours has a dash of peppermint. And the foundations do have tint in them. Diet is key to helping anyone control a Rosacea outbreak. And don't forget to use the Sun Shades sun screen every day before going outside.

Some Dermatologists are more knowledgeable than others about skin
lines and their effect on Rosacea. Generally, plastic surgeons are the best ones to talk to about what to put on (or not to put on) the face. She also said that no matter what type of skin people have that is a must to cleanse, tone and moisturize every day for the health of our skin. We loose a pint of moisture per day from our skin. Even if we have oily skin, we need to moisturize.

One last piece of information she mentioned was to treat Rosacea as an allergy, (although this condition is not an allergy). Use one product for about 5 days. If you do not notice a problem, go to the next and use that product and so on. However, something in your diet can cause an outbreak also, so make sure your diet is as normal as possible during this process.

All of the Nicole Miller Skin Care Products have been Dermatologist and allergy tested. We also have noncomedogenic technology, which means it will not clog your pores. If you do have a reaction with any of the products, please return it for a full refund.

I have been using the Nicole Miller products and I believe it has
helped my face to not be as red and irritated as it was when I was using other cosmetic products. I asked my husband the other day if it was just my imagination or if my face was not as red as it has been in the past and he indicated that it did not look as red as it has been. I use the products for oily skin and so far I have had no problems. I do not get the burning sensation when I wash my face with the cleanser or when using the toner. I am also using the Vitality Pak, Cell Wise and Provex Plus. I don't know if that helps as well, but I know it can't hurt and I am having some great results with other problems that I have had in the past.

Hi All,

I've been taking Vitalitu Pack, Provex Plus and Provex CV for nearly a year and my Rosacea has certainly improved. Other people might not have the same results. I highly recommend the Nicole Miller concealer, too--it's the BEST concealer I've ever used and the foundation is excellent!

Claudia

Jenna, I would be happy to give you more details about how you can get this product. It is most definitely safe for pregnant women. Please feel free to call or email me directly.

Rosacea (rose-AY-sha) is a chronic (long-term) skin disease that causes redness and swelling, primarily on the face. Other areas that can be affected are the scalp, neck, ears, chest and back. Sometimes, rosacea affects the eyes.

Those afflicted with rosacea may first notice a tendency to flush or blush easily. The condition can occur over a long period of time and often progresses to a persistent redness, pimples and visible blood vessels in the center of the face that can eventually involve the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose.

Since rosacea causes facial swelling and redness, it is easily confused with other skin conditions, such as acne and sunburn. For this reason, rosacea is known as the “great pretender,” and often incorrectly referred to as “adult acne.”
