I use the Mabelline powder foundation. It's like Bare Minerals, but only about $7-$8 a container. It goes on great even over top of a lotion. I have a few red spots on my face and it covers them up nicely.
Since my daughter has been pregnant she is having trouble with her face. She has tried a few different foundations but they have made her break out. But her skin is also dry & flaky. She might have rosasea like I do. Just wondering if anyone else has faced this problem and has found a brand of facial products that have worked and aren't going to cost alot. I feel bad for her. Thanks a bunch you wonderful Mamas!

I swear by Clinique and I have used it since I was about 11. I am 48 now and do not look my age.
They have products that work with your skin type (which does change during pregnancy).
I use the Repairwear Series as well as all other makeup products they have. My 14 yr old daughter also uses nothing but Clinique. Her skin is flawless. She (and I ) make facial cleansing a priority.
Clinique has several moisturizers, oil free products and acne products that are good quality. The good Clinique reps at higher end stores will give you samples. You also get good samples when you order online.
Clinique is not THAT bad as far as pricey and it does last a long time. Also, if you don't like something...they will take it back.
We go to Dr. Allen Menter (a fantastic dermatologist) for proactive care and he recommends Clinique as well. Other products he recommends as far as cleansers are Cetaphil and Purpose.
Best wishes.
Hi Candy,
Our bodies sometimes goes through different things based on the nutrition we may or may not have going in to our bodies as they change. I know of several people that have had Rosasea and they were able to get rid of ot by going on a nutritional program that was a fit for them. I can share their testimonies with you if you like; simple send me an email to ____@____.com and I will get those to you.
As far as a foundation goes; I would suggest a line calls Minerelles because it feeds the skin from the inside out and is full on minerelles our bodies love. I have attached a link below for you to research that. Hope this helps!

Youngevity has an awesome new line of skin care that is all natural. The starter kit, which contains a creamy cleanser, an exfoliating cleanser, a toner, a daytime moisturizer and a nighttime moisturizer is just $49. Those with dry skin usually use the exfoliating cleanser at night and the creamy cleanser in the morning. If really dry and/or sensitive she might only use the exfoliating once or twice a week and just use the creamy cleanser the rest of the time. The whole line is just awesome and very soothing. It's called the Botanical Spa line. Here's some info:

The Youngevity Mineral Makeup is also great.

Candy,
I have a medical team through my Mary Kay that I work with and we have certain products that we know can be used with rosasea. The best part is that we only want her to have the products that will work for her skin type so everything is backed by our 100% guarantee. This means that if something is not performing to her liking after she purchases it and she lets me know right away I can take it back and replace it with a differnet product or she gets her money back. We never want you to have a drawer full of buying mistakes.

One 4 oz glass of pomegranate juice every morning did the trick for a friend of mine who had incredibly dry flakey skin only during her pregnancy. A good place to start since it is inexpensive and easy to add to a daily routine.
I have problems with dry flaky skin - I use listerine on it and it works wonders. It has natural oils that heal. I don't use the regular listerine because of the smell, I use one of greens (Fresh Mint I think) Get a little trial size at Target and see if it works. I also have extremely sensitive skin I use a powder base and it makes a world of difference. Cetafil & Purpose cleansers and moisturizers work well as well.
I hope this helps.

Hi Candy, while I was pregnant, my derm prescribed Azelex, an rx cream for breakouts on sensitive and pregnant skin. It is safe for pregnancy. It is used everyday under moisturizer and choice of makeup.
The pregnancy breakouts hurt like crazy!
I too have sensitive skin and know that fragrant and toxic rich products seem to irritate it further. I love Nicole Miller's line. Her stuff is all natural and very gentle. Its sold by the company, Melaleuca. I don 't know if you have heard of them, but they sell green, naturally based products that are safer and healthier for our homes and families. Since your daughter is pregnant, you may want to recommend their products to her to reduce the toxin level of her home. Let me know if you'd like any more info re: Melaleuca. Anyways, as far as skin, I love Nicole Miller's stuff, works great for me.
could just be dry skin or there is an "acne rosacea." There are herbs and vitamins that could help with that, but she would have run them by her doctor to be sure since she is pregnant. I also have a very good skincare system I think could be very beneficial for your daughter, and it is affordable. It's natural and healthy. Let me know if you would like more info or a web link.

Before you buy anything from a sales consultant or a prescription, your daughter needs to try Cetaphil. Ask any dermatologist, and they will tell you its the best thing out there for sensitive skin. It has no frangrances and is incredibly gentle on the skin. I have mild rosacea, and also had dry/breakout issues while I was pregnant. I tried 3 different brands before Cetaphil, and it just got worse. It took about a week using the Ceptaphil cleanser and lotion, then it all cleared up. The best part is it's fairly inexpensive, there are a lot of generic brands out there, and you can use the lotion all over!!
Also, if you or her have moderate to sever rosacea, I would recommend checking into California Baby products (www.californiababy.com). My son has uber sensitive skin (blonde hair, blue eyes) and it's the only line we can use on him. They are 100% organic, and perfect for babies and adults with rosacea, eczema, etc. My favorite is the Calendula cream! They're a little more expensive than Cetaphil, but have proved to be WELL worth it and last a very long time.
I know these are skincare recommendations, but I think if she gets it cleared up first, the foundation won't be as big of a problem.
Best of luck!!
I think skin care products marketed for sensitive skin do not specify for which type of sensitive skin they work best.
