Return of the Menstrual Monster

Hi ladies!

I stand here before you today as a woman reborn! Here me roar.

After a 2.5 year menstraul hiatus, my period has returned. And with it a gush of emotions. For this period symbolizes that my body is officially done with supporting a baby. She breastfed for 17 months, the result of my menstraul hiatus, and now my body is back to its business of producing and releasing eggs. This makes me sort of sad, unless I have another, which is up in the air now due to my age and economic woes. I know, a lot of philosophy to attach to one little period.

But did anyone else feel similarly when their period returned post-partum?

What can I do next?

I have always been totally aggravated by my period, and even though I did exclusively breastfeed, my period came back almost immediately after both babies. Seriously, by the time the babies were 3 months old, there was my period. Ugggggh. I wish mine had stayed away - I would have breastfed longer just to avoid having my period come back! LOL

i did - i was sad.....it took a long time after i stopped for it to return and when it did it was all over the place. cycles varied for about 7-8 months and finally leveled out. time to prep for another baby!

Yes! My baby girl nursed for 14 months, but my period came back around month 4 - much earlier than I was expecting! I was sad, because, well for the same reason you said. I had a lot of little milestones like that. So I let myself feel what I was feeling, and then reminded myself that with my period, I was able to start trying again when I wanted! :)

Mine came back 7 months after the birth and I was breastfeeding. I was irritated that it couldn't have stayed away longer. I knew I was done with babies, so it wasn't a big deal, actually.

Mine came back I think about three months after I had both babies while I was still breast feeding and I was ticked. I was hoping to having a lot more time and would have been happy to never get it back after the last one cause I don't plan to have anymore as I had my tubes tied!

Mine was never much of a bother, but I also didn't get a break from it. Spotted throughout the pregnancy, and Aunt Flo started visiting within a month after DS was born, despite exclusive B.F.
