Hi Mamas (and occasional Dads!)
First, I want to thank you all for the great advice about getting a dehumidifier for my basement. What a HUGE difference that has made already! I am shocked at much moisture that this thing is pulling out of the air and wish I would have gotten one years ago!
Secondly, I wanted to ask those from the Overland Park area if there is a good place to eat somewhere near Mecalf and 135th? We are going to be there for a soccer tournament and would like a reasonably priced sit-down place to eat. We packed a cooler for the first day, but I think we need something more substantial than I packed. I don't want to eat out a lot, and we really try hard to avoid fast food. I thought packing a cooler was a good idea, but I think my son was so hungry after the games that he needed a hot meal.
Third, will the mom who said someone was posting too many questions the other day come after me if I post another one? I just like bouncing thoughts and ideas around with the wonderful group of people on this site. I noticed that since I have started to open up and ask questions of my own, I have gotten to be friends with more people. I don't want anyone to think I am one of those "troll" people or a dramma queen though!

What can I do next?

Questions are questions. Trolling is just trying to stir up the pot for drama. Don't worry about it. :) Good luck !

I didn't see the complaint about asking too many questions but if I had I would have totally ignored it. Do ask as many questions as you want to ask.

Too many questions is not a sign of a troll so no worry there. I looked back at your questions and saw no drama. So don't worry. Have confidence in yourself.

Not sure what kind of food your kids like but if they like hamburgers, there is a Red Robin (very kid friendly) at 135th and Antioch (just west of Metcalf). If you just drive down 135th, there are tons of restaraunts, some expensive and some not so pricey. You will also find several restaraunts north and south of 135th on Metcalf. There are tons of restaraunts around 119th & Metcalf also. We are surrounded by food!!! :) PM me if you have a specific restaraunt or food type in mind and I can tell you where it is.

I'm super far away from your area so no help on the food but, if you have questions ASK AWAY!!! I wasn't aware of a limit on the amount of questions we can have. If the mom who complained (I missed that post) doesn't like the amount of questions asked by one person than she has every right to skip em. This sight is for questions right??? Have a great time at the tournament.

Christi...do you have a garmin in your car? If you do...put in the address of the soccer fields and then ask it to show you the restaurants nearby. I am not familiar with that particular area of the Kansas City Area...if you wanted placed to eat out near The Royals Stadium or in Independence I would be WORLDS of help...lol. I am sure there are tons and tons of places to eat there...I know there are big shopping centers and I am sure you will have no trouble finding a place to your liking. Could I suggest that you also go to Restaurant.com...put in the zip code of the soccer field and see what it brings up...that will give you some ideas of what is available in the area.
Good luck with the soccer tournament...our girls were involved in Fast Pitch Softball for years and years and these family sports trips are SUCH fun!!!

I don't think you will have any trouble finding somewhere to eat in that area.
You could always drive the 10 or so minutes to 95th street where the Oak Park Mall is and there is a bunch of places to eat there.

Overland Park is really easy to navigate and get around.
