I have done Let's dish and loved it. You can try many differnet types of food without investing the time and money. Trust me you will not having to answer the question... what's for dinner.

Hey J.. You might try going to savingdinner.com and checking out their mega-menu mailer. Saving dinner is a great website with several options for busy families. Their mega menu mailer is basically the same thing as the other food prep places, but you do it in your own kitchen and you control the quality. I'd give it a try if I were you.

I see you are located in Olathe. Your Other Kitchen is right at Sante Fe & Murlen....By the Price Chopper. They are the first of these meal prep places in KC. I have used them several times along with Meal Makers, Kitchen Conceirge, Lets Dish and Mealsmith. So, I've tried most of them. I don't have a favorite, but my least favorite was Meal Makers at 135th & Metcalf...just because the food didn't taste as yummy. I have had luck at all the others though. The food has always tasted good/great and been easy to prepare. Your Other Kitchen seems to be the best value so far and the closest to you maybe. Mealsmith at 135th & Roe is the newest and I think has the nicest store. I have gotten to where I just order my meals and let them make them and then I just pick them up. I have done it where I went in to prepare the meals and it was fun, but after a few times of doing that it was just easier to order the meals. I don't think you would be disappointed in the quality. You might start out with 8 meals instead of 12...which most of the places offer. Most of them offer meals already made and you can go in and just purchase one to try. And if it's just the three of you, I would have them split the meals too, a regular meal would be a lot of food for 3 people. Good luck and enjoy!

Dream Dinners, Dream Dinners, Dream Dinners!

I've been going there since March and love it! The ladies are great, someone's always around to help or answer questions. I've recommended it to two friends and now we make it a monthly girls morning out. You can do six or twelve dinners and there is a menu to choose your dinners from so you're not required to do a certain "set" of dinners depending on how many you want to do. You get thirteen for the price of twelve as well as a free dinner when you refer someone who comes in. You can book everything online which makes it that much easier. You can also alter the recipes to your liking (more or less spices, salt, etc). You could also make twelve of the same dish if you wanted. They are that flexible. The dinners are great and we've even tried new things that I normally wouldn't have picked out of cookbook to try. They are located in Fountain Square behind The Cheesecake Factory on 119th, across from the Sprint Campus. Check them out at www.dreamdinners.com and tell Jana & Dan that L. sent you. You won't be disappointed!! Oh, by the way, Jana & Dan take a personal interest in all of their customers so it's always like chatting with friends while making dinner. It's a great experience.

Yes, i have only tried Super Suppers in Overland Park. Paul Surles, the owner, is a member of our church and he is so nice! They also have great specials and coupon offers occasionally if you get on their email list. I have been very impressed with their offerings too! :)

I purchased 12 meals from Meal Makers at 13352 Metcalf. My family loved the meals. My husband was rather suprised how inexpenses in was. I will definitely do it again. What I liked best was going on line, picking the meals, and then picking them up. I did not have to prepare the meals.

I've done social suppers, quality is good, we did the 'split' portions so I had dinners for 2-3 ppl vs the 6 portion sizes- on most things we had enough for a lunch the next day as well as the dinners for us two- some dinners werent as 'spicy or flavorful' as i would make them but since we did the split, i added spice to the next batch if i wanted so it worked out well! we also did it as a group of 10 so as each of us ate one we'd email the group and tell what we though would be better (spice, cook time, etc) so that helped as well-- overall I thought it was worth it and we'd do it again! prep for dinner is very easy and quick-- we've checked out all the local menus for all the places and I want to do super suppers next since their selection is even better(for our tastes!)

My name is D. and I am also a mom who works full time outside of the home - with two little ones! I know how hectic dinner time can be. I had a client that tried one of these companies (can't remember for sure which one) and she was not overly impressed with it. She said she might have spent that much just going out to dinner. But that's just one feedback that I can give you. And to be honest with you, Dream Dinners is a client of the company I work for (For accounting purposes), but I don't know a lot about them. BUT, I have another suggestion for you! I am an independent distributor for Homemade Gourmet - (www.homemadegourmet.com) - and I love everything about it. They have a WIDE range of FRESH mixes that make meal planning a breeze (and MUCH MUCH more affordable). For example, I just used two of the seasonings today (The grandmother roast seasoning for my Roast I cooked for lunch for my husband and my visiting in-laws) and we just tried a new recipe tonite - Shrimp Scampi -Lemon poppy seed style. My husband really liked it. They have a product called 4 Meals in 4 Minutes that is really becoming popular, because you can actually prepare 4 meals (the main course (usually chicken)) in 4 minutes. ALL of their ingredients are prepared and packed fresh - everyday. They don't just pull things off the shelf when I order them. Anyway, I can go on, but I would love to introduce you to what we have to offer, and just see if this is an answer to your problem. You can make many dishes and just freeze them, and pull them out to cook, or throw in the crockpot for the day (I'm making the Italian Mozzerella Meatloaf tomorrow night). I hope you take a moment to check out the website and let me know if you have any questions - EVERYTHING IS 100% Guaranteed (I will either refund or exchange if you don't like something or if you might have "goofed" on the recipe) - I doubt you have that with the "prepared meals".

I've done this before, and it is great. You can either set up a time to go and prepare the meals yourself (usually 1.5-2 hours for 6-12 meals) or you can have everything ready for you to pick up for a small upcharge. I've been to Super Suppers, but there is a new place at 135th & Nall called Mealsmith and the prices are MUCH better for the same high quality food, and the atmosphere is awesome.

The best part is everything goes in your freezer. Take it out in the morning or the night before, and when you get home you pop it in the oven or cook quick on the stove, and you feel like you've made a great meal (which you have) without all the prepwork. Even husbands can do it!
