Hi moms my son is 14 months old and he has had alot of health problems so far. Starting around April he has had 9 ear infections so far, candida in the esophogus, and eczema and GERD. Well since he has had all the antibiotics his GI has put him on probiotics to strengthen what he has lost. Just wondering if any other moms have thier kids on them to, if so what is the best, cheapest, most effective ones you have used. Since they are not prescription we have to pay for them. Thanks in advance!

I tried "yum yum dophilus" probiotics from Central Market about a month ago. They are pills you have to break up. I would have preferred the liquids they sell, but my son is allergic to the flavors they had. I had these highly recommended to me by a couple people so I tried (to bost my son's immune system and speed up him possibly growing out of his allergies.) I was warned that it would cause diarrhea for a few days, but I guess my son is super sensitive. He had diarrhea (I'm talking like a newborn 8 times a day) for over 2 weeks, until I finally said that's enough and stopped the probiotics. It gave him such a bad diaper rash, he would scream when I had to change him and it was red, raw skin. So, I don't know if it's just my son or not. But be careful and really watch his toosh.

Dear C.,

Sounds like you have a very knowledgable doctor. Yes, all those illnesses you listed are a result of too much candida in the body. Probiotics is the best way to deal with it.

Another good thing to do is to get your child off of refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup and white flour. Whole grains and sugar from natural fruits don't feed yeast like refined foods do. I know that is hard to do but it works wonders.

Hope this helps.

Nutribiotic GSE (Grapefruit Seed Extract) is a lifsaver! We have taken it for years. My son had chronic ear infections but has not had a single infectin of ANY kind in almost 3 years now! It is very inexpensive and one small bottle lasts for about two years. A couple of drops of it mixed in orange juice is all it takes and the kids can not taste it. Atached is a link to a website, but we have seen it at Whole Foods, Central Market and The Vitamin Shoppe.

C., I have a 3 year old and had the same problems with both ear infections and excema. He was having ear infections about every 3 months. They wanted to put tubes in his ears and send him to a specialist. I asked them to give me 30 days to use a nutritional method instead. This is when I was introduced to Shaklee. I put my son on Probiotics and an Optiflora pill. I also put him on the children's multi vitamin to build up his immune system. Shaklee gives a 30 day guaruntee so I felt it was worth it. Needless, to say
Andy has been a very healthy boy since then. No ear infections. I have him on GLA for his excema and I use the Shaklee baby wash and lotion. It has been a blessing for him. I would love to talk to you more about it. Good luck, I know it is heart breaking to see your baby continually have to be on medication and sick all the time.

stopyeast.com is a great website that addresses this problem and the specific link for children is...http://www.stopyeast.com/kids.html.

I've been using the products on myself to fight candida and they've been working great!

I am a huge fan of probiotics. My son went through the same stuff. I got his neck adjusted by a pediatric chiropractor, (very mild adjustment) and started opening a capsule of probiotic into his cereal. I bought acidolphilus-plus from Albertsons and later culturelle from Walmart. I'm not sure which was a better product or deal. My son has not had an ear infection since. Check out this site. http://www.upwardquest.com/probiotics-benefits.html
Hope your son is feeling better soon.

Hi C....Just a thought...Using all natural products and getting the toxins and chemicals out of your house may help! I have several friends who have done this and they (and their children) no longer have eczema outbreaks. Their children have also been healthier, as have mine.

If you'd like to hear more and try it out - contact me. I'd love to help you and your family out!

Good luck!!

Hi C., I use Jarrow probiotics as my ND informed me that several of the other brands have things in them that are not noted on the box. Jarrow is gluten free, yeast free, wheat free, etc....and costs about the same as the other brands. I just bought a box of 120 capsules for $25...considering I take 1-4 a day, it lasts quite a while.

All the best,
C.
