Has anyone used the 'name your own price' on priceline.com?? I know it says that we could leave between 6 am to 10 pm but how does that work? Do i have to stay at the airport until they say they have a ticket for us? I forgot to put in that it will just me & my almost 2 year old!! Sooo....yeah lol

What can I do next?

I have. I put in a very ridiculous low amount and they rejected it so I inched it up a bit and up and up until I finally hit the magic number. You're not on stand by waiting for a flight, you are just bidding on an early morning flight. I've also done this with hotels and saved a lot of money. I stayed ina very swanky place for what I would've been charged at a Motel 6. No offense to Motel 6. :)

i did ONCE...while I saved a boatload of money on the airfare - I was at the airport at 0430 for a 0630 flight...it sucked...i'd rather pay more to have a more reasonable flight time....but that's ME...

it was great that the airplane was basically empty and that the airport was just "waking up" but it sucked as it was JUST WAKING UP...

much to weigh....

Like said you are bidding on a time range with a price. Once your bid is accepted you get actual tickets for a flight.

My husband uses this all the time to get his hotels when he is out of town on business. If it is an area you are familiar with you can actually tweak the parameters to know exactly which hotel you are going to get. :)

I used it once and my flight arrived late and I missed my connection. So I walked over to the customer service desk to get reassigned onto another flight. Their reply: sorry, we cant help you - you have to call Priceline. uuugghhh

I just tried using it for a hotel. Unfortunately, there was one huge catch for us, so we couldn't use it. We are traveling as a family of 4, name your price only guarentees a room for 2.

I usually use hotels.com to book a room. Priceline and hotels.com had the same prices.
