I was reading that yoga can help the pressure that I am feeling in my back and hips already. I'm 3 months and this is my second but I didn't show until late with my son. I don't think that there are any classes close to me and cost is an issue so I'm looking for a dvd that other mom's have tried.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Yoga classes are available via Naperville Park District - next eight week session begins on April 7th - Tuesdays at 7pm, Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 4:30pm...you can come one time to see a set of yoga poses and learn about yoga breathing and get feedback about your alignment and hands on mini-back and/or shoulder massage - this is something that the DVD probably won't give you completely. Both Edward Fitness Center and Rush Copley Healthplex offer prenatal yoga classes. (At RCH you can pay to drop in for the class and not necessarily pay for the membership.).

I would recommend "Maternal Fitness" DVD (and book) by Julie Tupler. It not only teaches you great exercises, but how to keep your rectus abdominus from splitting more in your 2nd pregnancy, and how to bring it together even while your belly is growing! This will also help with the pressure on your hips and back because your rectus abdominus (outer abdominal muscle, a.k.a your 6-pack muscle) IS your back support. I would strongly recommend bringing this muscle back together before your belly gets big to prevent MAJOR backaches during the pregnancy, as well as other problems (like hernias).
The DVD will also help you with pregnancy posture which will help with the pressure as well.
If you want a personal training session or you want to take a class with this, I am the only one in the midwest certified to teach this. I teach at Orland Park and Homewood - through the park districts "Lose your mommy tummy" and I train at Tinley Park, and in people's homes.

Hey, R.. I enjoyed both Anna Getty's Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga DVD (though I don't get to the postnatal part nearly as often as I did the prenatal - ha!) and Shiva Rea's prenatal yoga DVD. I think both are available at Amazon. Good luck!

I used the Yoga journal/Lamaze "Yoga for your Pregnancy" and loved it.
It has multiple parts including, relaxation, energizing, and labor room breathing and moves. As well as a post natal workout (which I still use and my child is 2!) I loved it and gave it to all my friends.
Like the other post I used the Prenatal Yoga by Shiva Rhea, this was incredible with levele for the three trimester. I did tid from 1st month to the last day ofmy pregnancy.
I never had back pain during or after the pregnancy. Note I alos showed up very later in my pregnancy.

I used Prenatal yoga by Shiva Rea. I did yoga prior to doing this video but felt this video had different modifications for every level. It really helped me.
