My daughter is 19 months old. We just bought her a potty chair.. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good potty training book or video for her. I know she is abit young - but she does very well with books.. so I am thinking if we read about it she might get the idea...
My daughter is 21 months and next month I will really be trying to get her to potty train. We got her a potty for Christmas and she has been doing a little bit with it. We have 2 potty books: one is an Elmo book with the sound buttons to press throughout the story, and the second one is the Potty Book for Girls by: Alyssa Satin Capucilli. I don't know any videos though, I want to find some myself. Good luck.
We have the "Once upon a potty for him" book. My son just turned two a few weeks ago, but he really likes to listen to the book! He goes back and forth with his interest in using his potty chair, but I am sure we will get there one day. I simply ask him if he wants to sit on the potty. When he says no, that is the end of the discusion. When he says yes, we go and try!

I can tell you what DIDNT work...a book called Potty Training in Less Than a Day...at least I think that was the name. Anyway, it had some really good concepts to use, but the book as a whole didn't work for us. I'm not saying it can't work, but I think there are other (better) methods that are more up to date!

I have a recommendation for you to read. This book helped me potty train my daughter while my little son was napping!!! IN less than a day!! I have used it with three of my kids and have had greatg success. "Potty training in less than a day" by Natan Azrin. You can check it out on Amazon and even have a sneak peak inside and read a few pages on-line!
There is a DVD out there called "Elmo's Potty". It lasts about 40 minutes long and talks all about potty training. Good Luck!

Try Once Upon a Potty for Her. I have the version for boys and, although I haven't actually used it yet, it came highly recommended by several people. I wish you the best of luck. I'll be starting with my son in a few months, too (he's only 16 months now). Hope this helps!

If she like Elmo. Elmo has a potty video and I think also a book.
I bought several videos which weren't so great and then borrowed one from a friend which was fantastic. "Potty Power", my daughter literally watched it over and over we sang the songs and loved it! I used the book "Potty Train your child in Just one Day" by Teri Crane. It suggests having a Potty Party. It was a lot of work on my end, but my daughter and I had so much fun potty training and she took to it very quickly. The author does recommend waiting until they're ready, for my daughter it was 2 years, 8 months. Good luck and don't stress about it!
Bear in the Big Blue House has a potty video that is very cute and worked GRREAT for my nieces and nefews....they watched it over and over and over b/c they liked it soooo much...
