About to Start Potty Training

I'm about to purchase a Babybjorn potty for my 15 month old daughter - just to have it around and start getting her used to seeing it. She has not displayed any of the "signs" of being ready for potty training, so I'm not planning on forcing this on her, but I was thinking of gradually introducing her to the idea. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of books or DVD's that are good to show/read to her in order to help get her used to the idea of using the potty..... Thanks in advance, ladies!

My girls were no problem potty training. But my son is autistic and we were told he probably wouldn't potty train until he was 10 or older. That was not an option. My husband was diagnosed with cancer Dec. 2005 and had to use a hospital bed and potty chair after his surgery. After my husband no longer needed the chair, I put it in my sons' bedroom. Within 2 months he was completely potty trained. Put the potty where they're comfortable. It may not be where you want it, but it won't be like that forever

I have had success with "My Big Girl Potty" by Joanna Cole and "Uh Oh! Gotta Go!" by Bob McGrath (Bob from Sesame Street) and my girls really like the illustrations.

I bought a DVD for my niece. It was called "Potty Time With Bear" from Bear In The Big Blue House. I dont think she ever really watched it much, but my nephew did and he's doing great with potty training right now.

If she likes Elmo, he has a Elmo's Potty Time DVD. My kids love it. Although my son only started to like it after he was interested in using the potty. Don't push it, you'll have a lot of messes to clean up. They also have a bunch of books for them. I put the potty seat in front of the TV for 1 whole day, and made him sit there all day. He got it that day, he was 3 y/o, but he was just then ready. Good Luck!
