Why do both of your questions and your one answer all involve poop? I am very curious as to the one topic you seem to gravitate to.

Why do you need to tell your daughter anything? You comfort her, clean her up as quickly as possible and get her tucked comfortably into a clean bed so she can get back to sleep. Then you monitor her all night to make sure she isn't ill.

I'm really hoping you didn't actually leave her crying uncontrollably to log onto the internet and ask for help. In the future, you tell her that accidents happen to everyone and that it isn't a big deal at all while you help her get cleaned up. Then you tell her you love her and keep an eye out for any issues that could indicate illness rather than just an accident.

I'm not real sure why this would be a huge deal! Every kid on the planet has accidents at least a few times so this really isn't the end of the world here. What would I do? Well, after probably saying a few swear words inside my head...LOL...I would just start cleaning everything up, get it to the laundry and make sure my child got a proper bath to clean her up as well. Then, I would move on. No biggie. It happens and obviously SH-T happens too! I would make sure she isn't sick or having some mild tummy trouble that might have caused this but other than that....clean it up and that's the end of it. Accidents happen and you don't dwell on them. Just tell her it's no big deal and then act calm and collected so her overall hysteria over it will improve and also stop. So not a big deal!

Time to clean up.
All bedding into the laundry and child into the bathtub after showering off.
If child is having cramps or gas pains give her GasEx or Imodium - a warm bath will help with the cramps plus get her clean.
Then fresh bedding, fresh pajamas and settle down to sleep.
You tell her everyone gets sick at one time or another.

Tell her it happens to most people at some point in their lives.
Tell her she likely will forget about it totally. If it happens again,
adjust her diet, maybe? Prepare yourself to not act too negatively
about it if it happens again. I have more embarrassing tales to tell.
But I won't. Good luck.

Accidents happen. They'll happen all her life. It's not a big deal. Even mom's have accidents, then tell her a time when you didn't make it to the bathroom in time. If you've never had one then tell her something else. She needs to know things happen and it's not a big deal.

IF she's getting a stomach virus then she may have another one this evening and tomorrow. She needs to know they sometimes happen.

If you don't have a personal story you can tell her them by all means tell her this one. You have a "friend" that has a 10 year old daughter and she had an accident in her leotard at dance one evening. She didn't know she had to go, it just came out. She was really embarrassed and went to tell her mom. They got her cleaned up and changed her into something else. She went back to class and no one knew she had an accident.
