I loved all the answers and no one had a right or wrong answer! We all have different expectaions of what we would like the day to be like! I would love a day of being pampered by hubby and kids, but in reality it isnt going to happen. I LOVE the homemade gifts from my kids and just holding my babies close to me, that will happen. But does it ever seem that everyone is so busy trying to make Mothers Day special for their mother that sometimes we moms get thrown under the bus somewhere??? We want to do something for our mom hubby's want to do something for their mom, and the ones that are mama's boys sometimes go so overboard they forget their own wivesr(I know the wife is not their mother, but they played a huge part in mamking her a mom ;)... Just a thought. So my proposal for Mothers Day is all momds get a day to themselves and everyone else leaves the house and leaves them alone or just gives a gift certificate for movie, massage or whatever so mom can get away with or without another mom and just do something for ourselves! :)

What can I do next?

I'm going to do that for myself. I firmly believe we are responsible for our own happiness and can't wait passivley by waiting for someone else to give us what we need. But I wont be treating myself on Sunday. Sunday I will spend with my whole great big extended family at the zoo. I can't wait!!!!

I'm selfishly hoping my husband buys me some sexy perfume, but honestly, last night as he said the blessing before dinner, part of his prayer was "bless the beautiful hands that prepared this meal." It was so sweet and heartfelt, it brought tears to my eyes. So, I'm good either way.

Yeah....but then we'd probably miss everyone in about 10 minutes of peace and quiet. :)

Perfect!
I don't want to go anywhere that day.
It's too busy, crowded, overpriced.
I just want to stay home & relax w/the family.
I will go visit my mom taking her some flowers, treats & an inexpensive
present she needs.
I hope you get what you want.
Don't wait for him to recognize your contritbution but instead go do something you'd really like for yourself on a different day: massage, mani/pedi, meet a friend for lunch etc. :)

I didn't see the prior post you are referring to. I won't even have my kids this weekend! They will be at their other parents house, including my step daughter. So we are celebrating next weekend when we are all together. My mom said she wanted us to get pedicures and go out to eat, so that is what I'm doing on Sunday, or maybe saturday so we miss the crowds. My husbands mom is out of state so we sent her a card. Hubby is always sweet to me and buys me something nice like a piece of jewlery. I think some extra effort does need to be made for all mama's on MD! I hope yours is great! =)
