I would love to hear your reccomendations on photographers for one year old photos. Some portrait and some candid is ideal. I am interested in experiences with Celebrity Kids vs a private photographer.

I used this photographer for pics of my 2 sons. She is AWESOME!!! Not your typical photo studio photos...very candid. I can't say enough about her. She was very patient as she has 3 kids of her own. I just had my son's 1-year photos taken at the end of May. A co-worker of mine gave me a woman's name who is just starting out her business and has this fantastic deal going on through August: she will come to you for a photo shoot (about 2 hours) for free (if you are within 20 miles of her home in Bartlett, or for $25 if you're beyond that), and her print prices are half price ($5 for a sheet of wallets, $5 for 4x6's, $7.50 for 5x7's, $12.50 for 8x10's, $15 for 10x13's and $17.50 for 11x14's). The catch? You have to sign a waiver that she can use your child's photos on her website, business cards, portfolio, etc. once her business is established. I have no problem putting my son's face anywhere she wants to use it since he is (and yes, I'm a bit biased) the cutest boy ever! The proofs were phenominal, and I just got the order on Friday and am SO thrilled with the way they all turned out. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get great photos, call Dana to arrange something before her start-up pricing expires!

We love her. She is great with kids and takes really great photos. Even when we think the shoot didn't go well, like the last one when our 2 year old wouldn't cooperate, she got great pictures. She is also very reasonably priced and you get ALL of your photos on a CD so you can print them when you want and where you want (so you can save money). She will also print them fore you and make books, collages, etc.

She charges a flat fee(I think $90) for an hour in her studio. She has lots of props if you want them. A few weeks later, she sends you a CD with hundreds of photos, color and black & white and you choose which ones to print at your own expense. The focus is on candids, but you can do plenty of posed photos too. She takes great pics and is easy to work with. I think her price is very reasonable and I can't recommend her highly enough. I need to get back to her so she can do some more photos for us!
