We need to find a new Pediatrician to see our daughter this week. We just relocated here, so any help with knowing which clinics or Pediatricians are highly recommended in the Northern area, preferably close to Parkville would be great. My 7 yr old was bit by a spider and her arm is extremely swollen, she is on antibiotics, but I need to have her seen by a regular Pediatrian by end of the week for a follow up. Thanks again for helping a newcomer to the KC MO area. We have 3 girls, but are open to seeing either a male or female, just want someone good, experienced, yet up with new technology. I heard Children's Mercy clinic downtown was great, but not sure how far the drive would be and it would be nice to have someone closeby.

I feel sorry for your daughter, I was bit by a brown recluse about 7 years ago and let me tell you it was more painful than child birth!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad you got her immediate medical attention whether or not it was a brown recluse or not. My children go to Pediatric Care North they have about 7 doctors to choose from. They are located at 152 and Platte Purchase. There phone # is ###-###-#### there address is 8781 N Platte Purchase Dr. My kids see Dr Ermalyn Kurbart, but they have also seen Dr Riddell and I've heard Dr. Storm is good as well. We live near Parkville too--welcome to the neighborhood! I've been very happy with Georgetown Family Care over by Shawnee Mission Hospital. Dr. Gaffney is wonderful with my son! She is a pediatrician and internal medicine doctor, so very knowledgeable. She's also one of the main responders to the NICU at Shawnee Mission. She speaks from her medical knowledge and has young kids herself, so she really relates to me on being a Mom. Her office is on the Kansas side, but we find it's only a 20-25 min. drive from Parkville going around 635.

Clay-Platte Family Medicine. Specifically, Dr. James McDonald. I love hime. He is quick and efficient but EVERY time we visit I never feel like he is in a hurry, we are never rushed and always stops what he is doing, looks at me and asks if I have any questions or other issues. He always asks how I am doing and how my other kids are. My middle child has cerebral palsy and he takes such good care of her. I always feel like my children are well care for. I recommend him to everyone, my sister and her husband use him and love him and my cousin is transfering to him. He is also a doctor of internal medicine so I refer adults to him to. And when we can't get in to see him, I feel fully confident in the other doctors. He is located almost to Parkville. He is off of I29 off of 64th Street behind the Hen House
We actually changed from our pediatrician to our family physician for our kids. Her name is Dr. Sharon Scott at the corner of 64th or 45 Hiway, and Cosby...just across from the US Bank. It's about 5-8 minutes from where you are. My oldest is 22, and youngest is 9, and we have always used pediatricians, but Dr. Scott is by far the best doctor I have ever been to...she's better than all the pediatricians put together!! I work in Health Care with children with disabilites, so have had a lot of experience with doctors....you'll love her. She's younger and has 2 children. Give her a try!! Her number is ###-###-####. Also, the Nurse Practioner in the practice is excellent!
I live in Parkville. We use Priority Care Pediatrics, which is only about 10 minutes away right off of 152 on the North Oak exit. All of the doctors in the practice are great. We see Dr. Julie Sullivan, but have seen other doctors on days when our daughter is sick. They really take time and seem up on all of the latest technology. They do everything on the computer. Additionally, all of their doctors did residencies at Children's Mercy and seem highly qualified. Their phone number is ###-###-####.
I take my daughter to Pediatric Care North-located off of 152 highway and Platte Purchase Dr. They have 7 (I think) female doctors and 2 registered nurse practitioners. I absolutely love every doctor there (I think we have seen them all!!) and they even have Saturday hours. ###-###-####.

Hey M., I have lived in the Northland since I came to Kansas City in 1984 and I'm now a single mom of a 10 yr old girl. We go to Dr. Fatima Mirza, ###-###-####. Her office is in the Creekwood Medical Park, about 10-15 minutes from Parkville, on the edge of Gladstone... right off of North Oak Traffic way, near Englewood Road. She has been my daughter's pediatrician since birth. We love her. I have recommended her to several friends who have switched to her. She listens well, she is very through, clear, and concise with her diagnosis and has a great “bed side manor”. Her nurses usually do follow-up calls to make sure everything is okay after a visit.
Also, my daughter was early at birth and had to stay at Children's Mercy for a week. We had to do some follow ups at a couple of the clinics with good results, too. It's about a 20-25 minute drive from Parkville.

I recommend Pediatric Care North. Dr. Marx has been my son's ped. for 5 years and she is wonderful. (All of the doctors there are good, but we are partial to Dr. Stephanie Marx.)

Welcome to KC! Being new here you might not be aware yet how spreadout even the Northland can be - I would highly recommend our family Dr (John Burroughs, ###-###-####) but he's in Liberty and would be about the same distance for you to drive as Childrens' Mercy downtown (probably 20-30 minutes, depending what side of Parkville you live on). I know the staff would do everything possible to get you in ASAP - they are absolute angels! Dr. Burroughs is a family practioner, but unless your child needs a specialist (which he's always happy to refer to) he would be able to see everyone in your family. That's one thing that I've really come to like - he's aware of what is happening in our family medically and how it can effect our son.

There is another group in the Medical Bldg at 95th & N Oak ( several of the Drs there left Northland Ped about 5 yrs ago and went out on their own. I have several friends that use them and LOVE THEM as well...
