Potter park zoo does a great party, they will tailor it to what you want
Pruess pets
Glow in the dark putt putt at Zap Zone
You could do a formal Tea at Turner Dodge House
My daughter has decided she wants her first "friend" party for her birthday this year. I like to spend between $100-$150. Any ideas for good locations in the Lansing area? I'm open to non-traditional party ideas, but would like something not in my home :)

I agree with the other mom who suggested Twistars in Dewitt! I don't believe you have to be members to have a party (though we do have a family membership). It is great fun!
There is also another cool indoor place on Lake Lansing called Jumpin' Jax Bounce Arena (VERY CLEAN). One of my son's classmate's mother is co-owner and is very friendly. But that is a little more pricey ($185-%250) They have a website if you're interested in reading about them: www.jumpinjaxbouncearena.com
Good luck!
Michael's has a birthday party package - you pick an age appropriate craft for them to make. Also - last I knew - the Little Red School House has a 'build a bear' type party. They pick a stuffed animal, decorate a shirt for it, have cake and presents. Potters Park also has a nice party - my sons is in the winter and the cold didn't bother the kids who wanted to walk around the park. There's always bowling, too. :-)
There is also a Twistars in Lansing (The SUmmit) off Old Lansing Rd. I was just there for a party on Saturday and the kids had a ball. They get very tired ( these were two year olds) and take a good nap! I know they gear the parties to the age appropriate groups.

We have had good luck with parties at Edru Skating rink in Holt..... They have drinks, pizza and reserved tables, and you can bring your own cake. Indoor skating, with rental skates or kids can use their own. Bad weather proof, and and they clean up.
Have fun, L.
Try www.sweetlittleparties.com. I'm told she will work with your budget.
Our kids always love parties at the YMCA and it fits your price range.
Try Twistars in Dewitt. They do everything for you - to include sending out the invites. They have a party room, you have your own "party helper", you name it and they do it - and they are in your price range. Good luck!
