I am a graduate student who will attend school full-time (afternoons and evenings only as that is when the courses are offered) starting next fall. I need time to study. My husband is out of town most of the year and has an erratic, unpredicatble schedule, so I can't count on him to consistently babysit a certain amount of time per week or at a certain time each week. (He tours the world with various musicians.) I'm looking for a part-time (approx. 25 hour per week) preschool to enroll my kids (now ages 30 months and 16 months) in in the fall. I've seen several preschools that I'm happy with in my area, but most of them are full-time (50 to 55 hours per week) which is more time than I want to pay for and want to spend away from my kids. (My kids have never been in preschool or any other type of daycare program.) Some of the preschools offer half-day programs but instead of costing half, or 50% the price, they charge approx. 90% of the price! I've seen some good part-time programs that charge reasonable rates, but they are open only to kids whose parents' income fall below a certain level, and we don't qualify (although we are not rich). Any suggestions?

In case you have not found a place yet, a terrific place in CC is Home Sweet Home on Lucerne. They have flexible schedules available & offer a Toddler Center for the younger one & a Preschool for the older one. It is on the corner of Sepulveda & Lucerne. Good luck!
