Roseville, Rocklin Area Pre-schools

You can call the Resource & Referral dept at Placer County Office of Education who give out free referrals to the public at ###-###-#### - they will ask you questions so they can narrow the search by what you are looking for at the preschools or child care homes in your area. I can't believe the amount of $135 a month is correct. Daycare/preschools depending on PT/FT are about that amount per week. We don't give out rates, but you can at least get referrals to fit your needs and wont have to look in the phone book or whereever. Good luck - hope this information helps. L.

Unfortunately, you need to be prepared to spend over $200 a month for part-time preschool. My son will be 3 in April and he goes to an in-home preschool in Lincoln, and we pay $270 a month for 2 days a week/3 hours a day (it works out to $30 a day). That is the going rate for preschools.
You can always check craigslist.com for home daycares/preschools. That's how I found the one my son goes to.
If you decide to do the City of Roseville preschool you need to get on a list now. There is no guarantee that you will get a spot, but my friend's son didn't have much trouble getting into their school of choice. The only problem with the city preschools is that the program is only 2 hours a day/2 days a week. That doesn't seem long enough to me.

I love my preschool in Loomis- Loomis Community Preschool. We are a co-op which means you have to work a few days a month at it, but I think it is worth it to spend that time with your 3 year old. It is also a play based school which I highly recommend.
I have 3- 4th due in APril and I have been able to work out swapping babysitting with friends so that I can continue it. Best part is for 2 days a week it is currently $90, very reasonable. You do have to be willing to put in extra time to get the reduced rate.
The other site that I have thought of, with #4 on the way, is Pacific Oaks on Taylor- it is an old train and I think it was $190 a month for 2 days.

Check out Childtime in Roseville! Its on Pleasant Grove and Foothills in the shopping center. Our oldest went there from 2 to 5 yrs old and is now in kindergarten and loves to go back to their place during holiday breaks - we also have an infant there as well. Good luck in your search!

My daughter goes to creative frountiers in citrus heights. She is currently in 2nd grade, but we started her there @ three years old & they take as young as 2 if potty trained. The prices vary depending on what you are looking for. They have all day, mornings, or afternoons & preschool you can pick how many days a week you want to attend.

I just wanted to let moms in the Rocklin/Roseville area know that the Rocklin MOMS Club - North Chapter will be sponsoring a preschool fair on Tuesday, Feb. 19th. It will be held at 6:30 at the First Babtist Church in Rocklin. It's a FANTASTIC way to get the feel for different preschools and shop around a bit. The directors/owners/teachers all attend and are wonderful about having all the information in print (pamphlets, brochures, etc.) and answering questions. They also usually offer sign-ups for visiting/observations. Some of the preschools attending are: Granite Bay Christian Preschool, Granite Bay Montessori, Loomis Community Preschool, Rocklin Montessori, Pacific Oaks Preschool, Petra's Play School, Roseville Parent Education Preschool, Warner's Granite Bay Country Day School, Kids Park, Wishing Well Preschool, Smart Start Learning Center, Playtime Learning Center, Baby Signs, and more!
