Yes you absolutely can bring in outside food and water. We always bring a cooler full of beverages. With how expensive food and beverages are at the fair, we aren't paying an overpriced amount for a bottle of water.
Can you bring outside food or beverages into the MN fairgrounds? This year we are trying to go early on a week day and make a whole day of it. But with 2 small kids I can't see being there all day and having to buy ridiculously priced water or juice for my kids. My husband is convinced that they will search our bags and confiscate any outside food or beverage. I want to at least bring in a few bottles of water and some juce boxes.

Just went with a stroller with tons of food and sippies/water bottles in the bottom basket. No one said a thing or acted like they'd ever search. I think it's fine.
We brought in 2 totally visible reusable water bottles yesterday with no problem at all.
You see people all the time with coolers, I like the rolling ones the best. Have fun at the fair!
You can bring in whatever you want, food or drink. Have a great time at the Fair. Be sure to check out the MooBooth at the cattle barn, it's a great educational area with lots of activities.
I don't know what the rules are, but we always have brought in water and small snacks. We carry a backpack, and we've never been searched. Hope this helps and you guys can enjoy the day!
Like all your other answers yes you can. I have for many years brought my own beverages. Also they have a Motts stand passing out free juice around the horticulture building they will fill the kids sippy cups and Kare 11 has free cold water too. And all you can drink milk for $1 at the moo both! Have a great time!
