SeaWorld San Antonio-Can You Take Food In?

I know what the rules says under FAQ's, but has anyone ever brought food or drinks in? I looking for snack ideas or even better to pack a few sandwiches, instead of spending a ton of money at the concession stands. What have you brought in and are bags checked.

What can I do next?

May I bring my own food and beverages into SeaWorld San Antonio?

SeaWorld San Antonio has a strict food and beverage policy as to what may or may not enter the park. Below is a list of what is, or is not allowed under the food and beverage policy. If at any time you have a question about items, please speak to a supervisor or Guest Services.

IS ALLOWED:

Small ice chests of six-pack size or smaller (one per family).
Special dietary food, diabetic, health related or dietary needs. These types of specialty foods may enter the park with park management approval.
Baby food, bottles, jars and other baby items.
Fountain drinks, single serve drinks, refillable mugs (if opened prior to turnstile).
Reasonable quantity of bottled drinking water. Juice boxes (straws must be disposed of).
Single servings of snacks.

IS NOT ALLOWED:

Alcohol is never permitted in through or out of the turnstiles. Any alcohol from outside of SeaWorld must be disposed of prior to entry. Any alcoholic beverage purchased at SeaWorld must be disposed of prior to exiting through the gates.
Ice chests larger than six-pack size.
Straws and lids.
Bags of fast food items, picnic baskets, sandwiches or loafs of bread (meals).
Soda, sports drinks or energy drinks (single serving is allowed if open).
Large servings of snacks.

The last time I went they made us take it back to the car, we just ate it out there then went in. That of course was in San Diego Ca, not San Antonio.. But my whole family stopped going anyways as soon as we watched the movie; The Cove. I suggest you watch it to, great Documenry, not boring & a real eye opener. Either way hope it works out for you, have fun.

I have never been and don't live out there. But I always sneak snack and drinks in. Or pack a lunch and eat it in the van? Just remember to pack quiet snacks that don't make much noise when eaten. Have fun

Hi,
We went about 1.5 yrs. ago and took a cooler filled with food and snacks. They do check to make sure there are no glass containers. The guy was nice enough to allow my baby food jar to go in. He just told me to throw it away after it was used. They don't allow anything with a straw either. It is all for the safety of the animals. We took some lunchables. They worked since everything was thrown away after eating or could be saved. I would tuck some zip locks somewhere(maybe in your pocket) to have for left overs if you do the lunchables. Since it is plastic, they might not allow that in. We also took plenty of bottled water. Hope that helps!

I WISH I had asked this same question before going to Sea World San Antonio. The biggest mistake we made was NOT bringing in food or drinks. I listened to the rules assuming the check all of your stuff before entering the park but they just put your bags through a metal detector and you go right in. I also noticed when we got to the gate, many families had "visible" water bottles just sticking right out of their bags and of course was also able to bring them right in.

We spent a fortune on the water bottles, I'm pregnant so I went through probably 6 that entire day at $3 each! Plus my husband and kids had to have drinks so I wish more than anything I knew before hand their not as picky as the signs make it seem and it's worth the risk of taking them in.

Just keep them packed in a back pack or diaper bag but either way, with as many people we seen obviously bringing in drinks, they really don't seem to care. If I can remember the brand of water bottles they sell there in the park I'll let you know and maybe it would be better to stick to their brand of water bottles to not "stand out" in any way. : ) (Aquafinas or Deja Blues) but again I'm not for sure.

They also seemed to only sell certain cokes, it was Pepsi or Coke....hopefully someone else can remember for you but if it comes to me I'll let you know. The post that said "bags are checked but not the bottom of strollers" was not the case for us. I had to put my purse up there on the belt and the back pack we brought in which I think they did a quick look but all they are looking for are weapons....not snacks. I think they know parents are going to have to have certain foods or certain drinks for their kids so there's just too many people to turn away for snack reasons.

Next time we take the trip, I'll be sure to bring in many bottles of water, and some snacks. The drinks were a bigger issue for me than snacks because we already planned on eating there so I wasn't so worried about snacks, but I wish I had stocked up on drinks.

Take care and have fun!!
