Does anyone have any opinions on Adventure Kids in either Plano or Flower Mound? I looked under the reviews section and there weren't many reviews on them. I have heard it's pretty safe and they have good activities, but I would just like to find out a little more. TIA!

What can I do next?

Hmmm, well I have a lot to say about this, but I will keep it short. When the Adventure Kids in Plano opened I was so happy. I paid ahead of time and planned on taking my two boys there a lot. The first time was okay, but after that each time was worse. The kids were running wild and my 7 year old said he was constantly being hit and bullied by an older kid and the staff did nothing about it despite being told. My younger son was crying because he was being made fun of for wearing glasses and the staff did nothing about it. The last time I took them there I had paid for them to eat dinner and my 3 year old was starving when I picked him up. My older son said they ran out of food so my younger son did not get to eat. They told me he had eaten, but I believed both of my boys when they said he did not. Both of my boys were crying when I picked them up because they had had such a bad experience. I was so mad at the lack of supervision and the fact that my son was hungry that I decided never to go back. It was a shame because it is such a good concept. I work in a Doctor's office and another mom came in and told me the same thing happened to her and she no longer took her son there. Now, I don't know about the Flower Mound center, but I would stay away from the Plano Adventure Kids unless you are taking a child who is 10 or older and can take care themselves.

We go to the Plano Adventure Kids and have had great experiences there. My son (4 yrs) loves to go! He has never cried or complained to me about bad experiences. In fact, every time we pick him up ... we spy on him through the window and see that he's playing w/a friend... usually they are in dress-up super-hero costumes (over their clothes) and running around playing w/each other.

I usually take my own dinner there for him to eat since my son is a picky eater. Plus, I instruct them on what time to feed him since I know he won't eat much if they make him sit down to eat right when he gets there - he's too excited, playing when he first gets there.
Sometimes I buy their dinner ($3) for him if they are serving chicken nuggets.

Friday and Saturday nights can be crowded sometimes, but that's expected since those are popular date nights. But I've never been worried about the staffing to kid ratio. They know me and my son's name by now and they tell me how he did... what he did. So I know they are paying attention to him.

It's super convenient and a safe place to take the kiddos. My son has had a great time there and only says wonderful things about going. He begs to go when we mention the name "Adventure Kids".

I forgot to mention that Friday and Saturday nights are usually theme nights. Like Hawaiian luau nights or Circus or Sports. I remember on a luau night, they served ice cream as a dessert/snack after dinner and they had a Limbo activity. My son was raving about how much fun they all had walking under the limbo bar. Cute ideas.

That is too bad that someone had such a bad experience there. I take my kids their regularly, so much so that the staff know me when I walk in the door. My kids have been pushed around before but the staff always tells me about anything that may of happend (boys will be boys after all). I feel very safe having my boys their and they beg to go. Staff are very warm and always seem to be engaged with the children when I come in. Hope this helps.

I have been impressed with Adventure Kids. I take my 18 month old daughter there about once a month or so and she does just fine and most important I don't worry. Our family doctor takes her kids there all the time..She recommended it to us from the beginning. We go to the one in Plano.

My sons goes to the one in McKinney and so far we have not had any problems. The only issue I have is that they say they do arts and crafts with them but they have never actually sat down with my son and done that even though I have askd them to several times. but aside from that he likes it. I do think it too much of a free play atmosphere and they need to seperate the older ones more from the little ones. But I like it and the staff there seems really nice and friendly
